OK NOW I've done Bogie's page so you can see pictures. He also has an avatar now.
Bogie is often mistaken for a GSD or Rott mix. However he does have blue-grey spotting/shading on his lower legs and stomach. His ears started out folded like an Aussie; during Spring Break they pricked like a Heeler; now one's sorta folded and the other pricked. He can't make up his mind (or rather his ears can't--LOL).
The other 5 puppies were all blue/grey spotted. He was known as the 'dark' one.
Why did I choose this mix? I've had an Aussie before and I always like working dogs the best for 'camping buddies' -- which whatever puppy we got was going to be. I needed a dog that could hike and keep up with my son, was intelligent, easy to train, not too prey driven, and had an easy-to-care-for coat. I had heard about Texas Heelers before, but I really was just idly searching Craig's List one day and this litter popped up. These pups seemed they would have all the attributes I was looking for; when I went to see them the parents had wonderful temperments, cinching the deal. Just a matter of looking at the right time, I guess.
Bonus: Bogie was only $35; there are some breeders that charge several HUNDREDS for these type of puppies!!
