Invisible fence

Postby zinicat on Mon Nov 02, 2009 4:20 pm

My dog is a big poop eater and l am not sure what to do when we get an invisible fence because she will be let out alone to poop and pee and play. We already tried to put pineapple In food so that she would stop eating her poop and that wouldn't work so we tried "For-Bid" (another poop stopper)- that also didn't work. Do you have any suggestions?

The only way to stop this behavior is to go with her and pick it up.

Agreed. Pick it up.

Also, entrusting an invisible fence to keep your pooch safe is NOT responsible!

Stewie is a big poop eater too. I go out and watch him when he does his business and right after he poops, I make him come to me so he doesn't get it, then after he's done his pooing for the day, or if he wants to just chill out there, I pick it all up.

I agree.. I have 2 avid poop eaters so In order to break it, I pooper scoop as soon as they are done.

I also agree that trusting a invisable fence is not safe, you intend to leave the dog out there unsupervised that is bad for business!!

I agree with everyone else. My sister has two mini beagles, show dogs, mom & son. The son, Tucker, is a notorious poop scoop! When they are let out (large, well fenced back yard), he follows his mom, Donny just waiting for the warm treats to come (Blechk!). My sister, or anyone looking after the dogs, has to be right there on top of things to scoop Donny's poop before Tucker gets it. Donny could care less!

I've never tried an invisible fence. Thought about it a time or two, but my back yard isn't big enough for Cheyenne to properly exercise in, so keep her on a cable while she's out. Her exercise comes outside the yard on a harness - get's me out for exercise too, so good for both of us!

Good luck!
