Dog Friendly in Washington State?

Postby DysonAussie on Thu Dec 20, 2012 12:49 pm

Hi, I'm from Washington State and a little over a month ago I adopted an Australian Shepherd puppy. I want to get him socialized and I take him to the dog park, but the dogs get too rough there. Does anyone know of events that is similar to the Pet Expo, or other animal friend events happening in the Seattle Area, thank you!

You do not say how old Dyson is but you could look in to the puppy class at one of your local obedience training clubs.Seattle probably has several, one may be AKC affiliated...Most OB clubs have classes for puppies under 6mo,these classes are more for socializing than anything ( an essential part of the pups development ) the OB class will follow later.

Just look in the local phone book under dog training clubs, they will tell you when the next session starts...Visit first, without your dog ,to observe, any member can answer your questions...Classes fill up quickly so do not hesitate to register as soon as possible....The cost is nominal and I guarantee that you will make new friends and perhaps be invited to join the club.
