This one was taken the same night and was actually is a mistake photo, but look whats in mid flight at the top of the pic!

Image

These last two I took tonight. Its a small moth (I think) but it has 4 wings. Oh, and notice at the left top, its a bee heiney

And here is the same little creature flapping its wings getting ready to take off.

Great shots, butterflies have been a pain for me, either I can't get close enough or they don't hold still.

I really liked the symbolism in the first two photos, Dakota has some separation issues and he was parking at me for leaving him in the house in this photo. But the color sort of sets lonely feel to it, and the glass represents a barrier, that separates him from what he is watching.

I was still figuring out my white balance when I took these, they were actually yellow.

I'm glad you posted pictures too! I love to see everyones photos and what they come up with. What they are "seeing". I'm still learning, I think thats an ongoing thing

Thanks Deb! I'm glad you won't be bored  . I get so excited when I get a photo that really shows what I was looking at. I know pretty silly, but its one of those small things that bring us joy

Thats a great photo of Dakota in the window. It definitely shows his feelings in the picture! Great symbolism!!
Your flower pictures are good! I really like the 3rd one because it also focused on the end of the stem above the flower which makes it interesting. And I also think the 4th one is great! The flower in front in focus and the background flower makes a fantastic photo!

Paws - You took a great photo of the zante flowers! Vibrant pink - beautiful! And your island picture is also beautiful, makes me want to be there!

Share away, like I said I love to see the photos  I have a couple that I took with my phone the other day, yes my phone! I was on my lunch hour and didn't have my camera in hand. I'll see how they look on the computer before I post them though! I sent one from my phone straight to fb the other day and got lots of comments, but lets see how it looks on the big screen..lol!! The others I haven't posted anywhere yet. I'll post those sometime today.

Linda, I think I may be getting a nicer camera in the near future. I will probably post some pics then, as the one I take with my current camera are nothing to write home about.

All the posted pics are great! I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Paws-Great pictures bees are also a pain in the butt for me, I am determined to get a photo of a bee, it would also help if I weren't so scared of them.
I like the island view too, it makes me want to be there.

SadieG- I had so many that came out blurry, I was happy that I got those. Thank you for the nice comments.

Nice shots!! Sorry, Linda, I can't identify the other butterflies, but I think they are Skippers.

In keeping with the insect theme, this was taken at the American Museum of Natural History Butterfly Conservatory. Don't know what species it is.

Now for something abstract. A close-up of the ceiling of the lobby in the Bellagio Hotel, Las Vegas. These glass plates are by Dale Chihuly, my favorite glass artist.

Gaby - you added 2 more photos after I posted, sorry I didn't see them the first time! Very nice! I like the bee too

RJM - I would love to see your photos, you've taken some awesome ones of Ruby & Kessler, and who can forget that fabulous photo of Morty!

Alina - Great butterfly! I love them. I've been to the butterfly gardens here in Indy, but didn't have my camera with me. I think we will be going back and I'll make sure I have it with me this time!!
I love, love LOVE the Dale Chiluly photo! Awesome!! His work was on exhibit here at the Children's Museum. I went twice while it was here! It hung down from the top down all 3 floors and looked different and awesome from every angle. Thats a fantastic picture...love the colors!
(And thanks for the butterfly name again (or whatever it is  ), I think you may be right!!

Here are 3 photos from my phone camera. The quality may not be quite as good, but I thought they turned out fairly good for a phone camera.

This is a photo of part of the canal where I walk at lunch a couple of times a week. It was a BEAUTIFUL day, and the beauty just struck me. I had to get it in a photo.

Image

Another shot from down on the walkway. The bridge ahead is where I took the first photo from!

Image

This is a total surprise that I found a few days later! The Eiteljorg Museum has some walking paths between its building and the State Museum next door. I've always taken a certain path, but noticed a second one that I hadn't been on yet. This is what I found on that path! I went back to take more pictures and a video the next day of this path because its like you're no longer in the city when you're walking it. Those are still on my little camera, I haven't checked them yet, and they may not be any good. The bugs and the birds were singing though! Anyway, this is what I found!

Linda, we once stood in line for about 2 hours to see the Chihuly exhibit at the Buffalo Museum of Art! My father was a big fan. It was amazing! I have some shots taken with my little 35 mm camera. I love it when there is a TV special about his installations. In Vegas, there is a gallery which of course I had to visit. Was allowed to take pictures too! There were pieces for sale but sadly did not have enough cash to buy any. I think the cheapest was 6K!! :o

Here are a couple from the gallery

What a wonderful downtown you have! I love walking near water. It's amazing what you can find right in your own backyard!

I have my phone at my side most of the time and when I see something cute or something I just can't resist to take a picture of I take out my phone and take a picture. A lot of times those times when i just have to take a picture of something as you can see are at my 4H leader Ms. Elaine's house which is where i spent most of my summer every monday and friday in the hot Delaware heat. If you want to see more pics of the horses though you'll have to look at my album titled my 4h animals.
