My Nena was acting funny today during her walk...

When we are walking and she starts chewing on her leash...


I stop and tell her to sit for a little bit...


And if she keeps doing it I will tell her to lay down. When she did it today she kept hiding her face from me... lol.

Again, thanks from Nena and I for the compliments.

I now have a dilemma which you all may help me with. I have not witnessed this before and it has confused Nena and I.

She has gotten some white hairs around the back of her neck On both sides it continues behind her front legs. It looks to me like a birthmark and does not look like her hair has any issues. Could this maybe hint as to what breed she might be mixed with? It's starting to look like a scarf! One day it was not there... and then the hair slowly changed it's color in the area. I will ask the vet when I take her in for her next visit. Here are some photos of what Nena and I are looking at... Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Emmy, it is amazing how a dog's coloring will change as they go from puppy-hood into adulthood. When we got our Airdale/Poodle cross he was the cutest milk chocolate color, with just a it of white on his chin and feet. By the time he was a year old, he was a greyish brown with white hairs speckled throughout his coat.

Nena is quite the cutie!! And how adorable if she developed a white scarf around her neck!

Emmy, when we brought Henry home, he had two very predominant white spots on his back, as if someone dropped a paint brush on him. In time, both of those have been replaced with black fur, and the white fur collar he wears has longer hairs than the rest of his coat.

As Margie said, it is quite common for their coats to change, not just from puppyhood to adulthood, but all throughout their lives.
