DP TOUR 2011 - Niagara Falls

Since we've been discussing a gathering in Niagara Falls in the Photography thread, I said I would start a proper thread for this conversation.

It seems as if quite a few of our members are within a reasonable travel distance of Niagara Falls.

This trip is going to be planned for late Spring/early Summer of 2011.

I thought that I might be able to make contact with several hotels in the region to see if I can't obtain group rates and ensure that all amenities are available for our dogs (should we wish to bring them) as well as ourselves! (I used to do this sort of thing, more or less, for a living.) I can't promise anything, but I can certainly try.

Some people may wish to make it a day trip and others may wish to stay for a day or two. We can work all of that out.

I can also obtain information regarding other areas to see such as Niagara-on-the-Lake, which is such a beautiful spot, and is an easy drive from the Falls. I also know that Linda may wish to visit Brantford (home of Wayne Gretzky) which again, is an easy drive from the Falls.

There are a number of attractions, such as Maid of the Mist and a Wax Museum. I need to investigate further.

So, if anyone is interested in a Daily Puppy Meet in Niagara Falls, perhaps we can start to make plans now.

I wish Boston was closer to Niagara falls. 9 hour drive... not completely out of the question but kinda pushing it for just a weekend trip or whatever. I would love the combination of going to Niagara Falls though (have never been) in addition to meeting so many DP people!

Kristen, it is a long drive from Boston. Peter's cousin attended Tuft's, and her family lives around Buffalo. She used to drive home for the holidays and it was about 7 hours...still a long drive, but doable.

I was just looking at flights into Indy. Probably Summer would be best for us as Spring is OH's busiest time. Excited to hear from everyone else!!

I think it will be a 7 hour drive from Indy, Linda will know for sure. Yes, Kristen check into it!

I just did a quick Google map search for directions. Looks like an 8 hour drive. Completely doable!!

I'm in! Depending on what you find out for accomodations, Deb, I might just bring Mr. Jose with me!
