Chandra. you really did get carried away. That was a great job. Cheers was based in Seattle wasn't it?

A&K, that is a beautiful view from your old home.

Anna. it sounds lovely where you are with the redwoods and beaches. I visited San Fransisco and San Jose many years ago and loved it.

Deb, your room is ready and waiting.

Sry about the late response Deerie! You may be thinking of 'Frasier'. It was supposed to be set in Seattle :)

A&K, I have ALWAYS wanted to visit Kentucky! I have this thing about seeing the bluegrass and going horseback riding (I love horses). I've always wanted to do/see both in Kentucky!

Doh, I meant Frasier. I don't know why I said Cheers.

No worries! Don't they both have someone who's been in both shows? I can't remember...I never really watched Cheers but I catch reruns of Frasier every once in awhile :) I want to say "Niles" and his gf are also in Cheers....I may be wrong.

I think Frasier lived in Boston before he got divorced didn't he and then he moved back home to Seattle? I'm not really sure.

I think you're right. I could have sworn in the few eps of Cheers I've seen it shows Niles and Frasier sitting at the bar :) That theory sounds correct to me!

It's a long time ago. I haven't seen Cheers in years although they do show Frasier reruns occasionally.

Kristen - I'm very familiar with Kentucky (since I'm from Indiana) . I have always thought Kentucky was one of the most beautiful states I've ever been in. I absolutely love the rolling hills, and the white fences. Last fall my OH and I met one of the other DPer's at the River Walk in Louisville. It was beautiful! I have a friend who just moved to Kentucky too, her husband got a teaching job there. They say that they now live in Kentuckiana :D .

Chandra - Washington State is on my bucket list of states to visit! Isn't the fish market where they throw the fish in Seattle?

I think Frazier was a spin-off from Cheers.

Yes the fish market is in Seattle! :) You should check out the video link in the post, it's quite amazing how they toss the fish thru the air! You'll have to let me know when you make it up here!

Yup - On "Cheers" Fraiser was married to Diane and then they got divorced. Then the spin off was him moving home to take care of his father. I loved both shows, can you tell???

Wow that was fun to catch up! I love the maps, I think we need to update it. Tracy I get a picture now of how far you were and how far Gaby is. That is quite helpful.

Chandra that was interesting, Seattle has always been a favorite of mine. I just love the Northwest and Starbucks seems to be on every corner here! I was surprised to see them in Target and in the grocery stores when we moved here. Guess I need to update my new area sometime.

Kristen I love Kentucky as well, beautiful state. The green rolling hills is how I remember it, just like your picture. At the time I was there, the humidity was horrible.

Anna I know your area quite well, my ex-OH's father lives up there. We spent a lot time there and growing up the Redwoods were a favorite destination.

Sorry if I missed anyone, it's 5am now.

Alright I will give this ago! I am not good with words so I am sorry for that lol!!

I am from Nova Scotia, which is the second smallest province in Canada, land and population. The main foundation cultures that are here are: Acadian (french), Mi’kmaq, and Scottish- I have been told that more Gaelic is spoken here than in Scotland but I can not confirm if that is true. Our main industries are fishing, lumber, gas, and minning. The capital is Halifax (where I currently live).

If you come to visit us some(not all) sites to see are:
-Peggys Cove
-Citadel
-Pier 21
-Blue Nose Schooner

We have the worlds highest tides (bay of fundy) and my home town is located where the highest tide records where set.

Since I am not a wordy person here are some photos of Nova Scotia:

My dogs favorite place to play:

Many of these have been found here (Mastadons)

and finally Point Pleasant park (there is a write up in Pet Friendly places about here) This is a dog friendly, mainly off leash park.

Nova Scotia has so much more to offer.

I would enjoy visiting Nova Scotia. What is the average Summer temps there? Is there a bridge on the Strait of Canso? The Bay of Fundi is very cool. When we flew over Nova Scotia, the pilot pointed it out, though it was partly cloudy I could see the land and ships in the water. It seems there were lots of little islands around as well.
