I Love the GSD, Klint however is very special he has such a laid back temperament. I think that’s because whoever owned him before us treated him so badly. He is afraid of loud noises and well Daisy gets in trouble he thinks he is in trouble. The poor old guy, all he does is lay around all day.

Our neighbor right across the street has one and it looks just like Klint but he does have that aggressive side. Klint can be aggressive toward other male dogs but other wise he is just quiet and timid.

* I noticed that Klint is getting awfully thin we try to give him table scraps but then he has accidents on our floor his has a sensitive tummy I think, and there is always food out for him but he only eats if were in the kitchen with him. I don’t know what else I can do I don’t even think he weighs 70lbs. He is all fur and bones.

Hi! I had a question. Now I have about a 14 week old little Bischon I just got the little guy. My boyfriend that Im living with is getting a GSD this sat actutally. He is going to be about 14 weeks as well. Were picking up the puppy from a breeder, mine was from a pet store.

Now my pup is gonna stay tiny while I know his is gonna get huge. Do you think this will be a prob in the future?

I'm sorry to hear that. Bad hips were my biggest fear when I was 1st thinking of getting a Shepherd. Having had large breed dogs my whole life and some who suffered with hip and joint problems I know 1st hand how hard it is on our fuzzy loved ones. Find a vet you trust and can work with to get your baby girl on the right track and my advice would be to not let her get overweight, that's very hard on the hips.

We Love our GSD! He of course has high energy and that is perfect for our family. He is so sweet and loving and is so protective of us. i couldn't imagine him hurting anyone for no reason! He is also very loving to our two kittens. I at first thought he was going to try to eat them! but he showed me that his intentions were purely playful. I wanted to add this video of him. I think its the funniest thing! He is trying to figure out how the toy is making noise...

I had a wonderful GSD. I firmly believe they need a lot of training and socialization to really be great dogs. I spent years with my Jenna in obedience and agility training. She had doggy ADHD we think. She was terrified of the vet but wouldn't dream of biting anyone. The worst part of owning one is the hole they leave in your heart when they pass away. Jenna became very ill suddenly and we had to put her down. From what I understand, they can get a type of tumor that causes internal bleeding.

My OH had a GSD when we were first married. Bess Von Tanengrauben SCH III was a retired demonstration dog for a Police trainer and my OHs personal protection dog..Bess was a real sweetie to have around but she did take her job seriously...

Later I fostered a lost GSD,we were never were able to find her owner..I gave her basic OB training,she was a quick learner...After she was solid on the OB routine we donated her to a service dog program..She graduated with flying colours and joined a College student who needed a wheelchair and a bit of doggie help.

I have seen many GSD classes at dogshows in the US and Canada and the Canadian classes have as a rule have been much better. I have also seen some super nice GSDs in Viena and other parts of Austria...I think the Canadians are adding more imports to their breeding programs (just my opinion). I do know where I would go to buy one.

I love GSD's we are looking at getting one in the next year or two, there are a few good breeders where I am. I've already started researching them all!

I have an GSD. When most people think of this breed they think of the cuteness and being protected but what people always forget is the fact that GSDs are shepherds (just like Aussies) so they have a LOT of energy and if they don't burn all of that energy then they bark continuously and start getting bored (which can be bad). Now, don't get me wrong I love my GSD but if you plan on getting one do your research, don't fall in love with them just because they're adorable and make amazing guard dogs.
