Anyone from North Carolina?

Hey! I am from Raleigh and go to school in Boone. My family has two dogs and I am about to get my first puppy of my own. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any awesome resources in the area. I remember taking Murphy to a summer dog event called "Bark Around the Park" in Raleigh about 8 years ago and it was a blast. We actually won 10 lbs of dog treats for first place in the dog-human race. Ive found a few dog parks which is great, and have researched a few cool pet stores, but I was wondering if anyone had first hand experience with anything they would recommend. Dog friendly places, great pet stores, puppy classes, etc. Anywhere in NC is fine! If its not close to me it would still be interesting to know.

Actually, if you know anything SUPER cool nationally, I think it would just be fun to share. But that is just me.

Also if you are from NC and just want to respond, Id love to know that I have North Carolinian brethren on the Daily Puppy!

I am near Asheville, NC and one place is the small town of Brevard, NC if you just want to look around at the shops most of them you can go into. They have signs on the doors that say Doogie you can bring your Human friend into here too. They have a cool small pet shop there too but kind of pricey but it gives our four legged friend a chance to look at there stuff too There on the Blue Ridge parkway is a lots of hiking trails to take them on.

No not from there, but I have been there a few times and it is pretty there! I know where Brevard is, been there to, sounds like a place to go. Perhaps "Princelover" Sher can help, she knows the area.
