Chocolate Exchange!

Postby issa on Wed Nov 19, 2008 5:19 pm

As I was reading Loki's Mum's thread on chocolates, I thought, hey it would be fun to do a chocolate exchange! I've done this once online also with my yahoo chat friends and it was tons of fun! we did it over Christmas and did a white elephant game. If you're not familiar with the white elephant game, the way it goes is one person hosts the game and that person assigns a number to each participants and every participant picks a number. Of course the host would get the last number not picked and then everyone would send a chocolate to the person they picked. You can reveal who you picked and get the address of that person to send them chocolates.

We had participants all over the world! from Australia, Netherlands, Japan and Philippines to name a few. I really enjoyed the chocolates from Netherlands, milk chocolate, not too sweet and it had nuts and raisins in it. The person that picked me sent me 2 chocolate bars! Anyway, it may sound chaotic but it sure would be fun! I don't mind hosting it if anyone is interested. The more the better but an intimate number would be just fine as well.

Chocolates... :D

Awesome! we can set a deadline date let's say end of november? to give other members a chance to see this. November 30th we'll close the entries and I'll distribute number assignments.

Oliver's Mum I'm glad you'll force yourself, not a big fan of chocolate?! how do you live?! I thought there for a minute I might have to twist your arm lol...

It shouldn't cost too much Loki's Mum, the only cost you would have to spend is for a bar of chocolate or a bag of chocolate what ever you prefer and stamp for when you mail it. If you happen to pick someone out of the country, I don't think the stamp costs too much. I'm sure it will be under a reasonable amount of money. The idea is to get to know each other a little better and what better way than with chocolates

Issa, I was thinking that perhaps we would exchange 1 or 2 chocolate bars or something of similar value as your original post suggested. It could also be a small box of truffles, just something indigenous to one's area. Is that what you had in mind?

Loki's Mum...I am thinking of a Cadbury Flake as I type this! Yum!!!

that is a fine idea Oliver's Mummy. Maybe we could also note next to our names if we are fans of white, milk, dark or bitter chocolates? that way, we don't make the mistake of sending something the person receiving might not like. So I'll re-post starting with my choice.

Issa, I see by the time we each posted last that we were on the "same page"! Since we are adding preferences or dislikes, if you will, I am not a huge fan of raisins, dark chocolate or bitter chocolate. :) I'm enjoying this already (too bad we can't send ice cream to go with the chocolate...lol...a girl can dream)

ice cream yummm... that would be a little too ambitious. I think the only person that might enjoy that is the mailperson. hehehe...

hey! count me in if you want to receive chocolate from Austria and if you're very lucky (and like raisins and nuts) I'll even spare one of my bars of my favourite chocolate (it's czech and not austrian, but still ;-)
I like all milk chocolate (with whatever in it) but no dark or bitter ...

By the way, WELCOME lolalinda to the Daily Puppy! I see you don't have a puppy in your profile but you must be a dog lover. Have you visited the Introductions section? You might want to visit that and introduce yourself so everyone could meet you. Enjoy the Daily Puppy!
