Hi Everyone,
All the Flowers are beautiful and I love to see the little seedlings starting out. Wow, your gardens are so pretty. Mine has gotten way behind and after the winter finally left, everything jumped up fast when the rains came and nearly washed everything away.

Now the lawn is looking as it should and things are slowly returning to the way they were, but our house needs tons of things done and I am just not getting things done. By necessity I spend much too much time on the computer, checking on Bob's or my own medication. I am going to try and take a day off and get some things accomplished outside tomorrow. I also have to do the laundry. I hope to make my Flower Bed look a bit more polished when I remove a ton of weeds. My new gloves will work well for my gardening. I have to work when my hands are not in pain, so sometimes I just have to wait a day or two, or more.

It is gorgeous outside today and is 75 deg.F at the moment at 7:20 PM. The sun has been out all day and just great. More of the same, Please!

I have Columbines out and my decorative grasses are huge. Some of my things are overtaking the garden. I need to thin things out and it is a new garden just the past year. My beautiful Pink Hydrangea is sort of being pinched a bit by other things and I may have to find a place to move it. I love it but I don't care for where I planted it. Karen added things after that was planted, so now I am going to try to fix it. It is fun.

On another topic, my husband just started doing that outdoor peeing thing about last summer. I never see it but I find it totally disgusting and maybe they are animals after all. No, I take that back, and my apologies to all the Animals who may have read it. He had better never go near my garden, which I doubt he would, since it is in the front of the house.
Men! Too many, that is their prized possession! I think it is gross and beyond weird to pee outside. It is bad enough that all the doggies do it, but MEN???

Things to do and weeds to pull. Have fun, girls, in your gardens.

Toodles,

Elizabeth

LOL Elizabeth...I'm with you when it comes to men and their inappropriate use of their parts. Growing up with four brothers only solidified my opinion on that.

You've been awfully busy these past several months, so I'm sure your Garden is lovely, just not as lovely as you wish it to be. Hydrangeas are beautiful! I hope you find the right spot for yours.

Linda, My Cardinal Climbers did the same thing! They seem to grow overnight, Brenda did say once they start they go like crazy. I can't wait for them to get large enough to start climbing the trellis.

Alina, Cute planter and I love the black petunia!

One of the "watering" offenders stopped over for a bit last night. He really liked what we are doing with the garden, but was bummed about the new "NO WATERING" rule.

I've finally finished my garden...in the 95F heat today...Bleh!
But I'm so happy it's finished!

This was after I'd dug out all the grass and the HO and I had most of the edging in place.

Thanks Deb and Margie!

I absolutely love working outside and doing "yard-worky" things.
Now to keep the dogs out of it, they were loving it when it was all dirt...LOL!

RJM that looks amazing and in that heat, you deserve a good drink of your choice and to relax.

MEN, that is hilarious. I would threaten them with every inch of their manhood if they did that.

Linda your garden skills are amazing, already getting beans coming up.

Brenda watering with a well, I would think you would have ditch irrigation there with that big beautiful garden. I wish I had irrigation as my electric bill goes up with the well pumping away. I do get some from runoff from the lady next door when she irrigates.

Everyone's yards and garden sounds amazing, I do have a few tomato blooms.

My peonies came out!

Anyone know what this tree is? The flowers smell so good.

Great job on that shade garden RJM!!

Yay peonies! I have no idea what that tree is, Kian.

Finally, finally my mini lilac is starting to bloom!!!!! My clematis is blooming too and I'm starting to get flower buds on other things too. Hopefully soon my garden will have color again! Still no signs of growth in the veg garden, sigh.

Keep on growing everyone! 8)

RJM you did an awesome job on the shade garden! That's a lot of work digging that grass out, I had to do it for the veggie garden and it was nice and wet when I did it then. I'm sure it was tough in the heat and dry ground. It looks wonderful!

Kian your peonies are just like mine! They will look huge (and beautiful!) when they open all the way up.
I have no idea what kind of tree either. It almost looks like its in the lilac family, but its a tree! Its beautiful.

Yay Alina on your flowers and blooms! If you're just now getting flower blooms and buds it might be a little longer on your veggies, but I'm sure they will start growing soon.

And sorry Alina, I had already uploaded this photo to photobucket before I saw your post. I'm not gloating, I'm really not. Its just not my style. But I am very excited, I actually got to pull a radish tonight! There are several more that will be ready in a couple of days. This one probably could have stayed a day or two longer, but I don't like them too big, plus they are crowded. This just makes room for the rest to grow.

And yes it tasted Great! After I washed it off real good

Kian, your peonies are beautiful! And I also have no idea what that tree is, but I wish I had one in MY yard.

SO...I am working on that plant bed over the stump in my front yard. I don't have the time, tools, or money to get the stump out of the ground, the edging isn't quite level. I only put the edging on the "down" slope so the dirt wouldn't take a walk downhill....I plan to get some edging stone to cover the 2x8 and in the front. I also need one more bag of top soil to even out the corners. And I have stone to use as mulch. It was just too hot this afternoon to finish it up. But here are a couple of photos of the work in progress.

Also - I couldn't get enough soil on top of the stump without making a mound. I didn't like the look so...meet Herr Gruber. He used to sit at the base of the apple tree. I thought he might enjoy a little bit of sunshine! At least for awhile...

Margie, That looks great, and Herr Gruber is one handsome fellow. :D

Kian, I can't see the leaves clearly in the tree pic, but I'm guessing it could be some type of Ash tree. :?
But that's just a guess. Your peony's are very pretty.

Your first radish Linda...Woo-Hoo!
I have quite a few teensy tiny green tomatoes on one of my plants, but just flowers on the other.

Well while you all are done harvesting in August, I'll still be reaping the rewards of my veg in October, hee hee!!!!! I have picked some baby spinach leaves and have baby green strawberries so there is some activity. Very happy to see the first radish and baby tomatoes, Linda and RJM!

Great job on your flower bed, Margie! Love the Gnome!

There is nothing like the first veggies out of the garden each summer! I do miss that....the radish looked great, Linda! And RJM...that photo of the baby tomatoes is frameworthy!

Herr Gruber is a genuine antique gnome. He belonged to my mother's best friend, Bill. Bill found the gnome at a shop in California back in the late 50's. When Bill moved to Vermont, Herr Gruber came with them and lived in the lilac bushes on their pond. When Bill moved to Pennsylvania in the 80's, he gave Herr Gruber to my mother to watch over the apple tree. He has lost a bit of concrete on his feet and one cheek, but he is still a cutie! I'm not sure he will stay in the flower bed, but for now, he can help the plants settle into their new home.
