Kwak's Road Trip to Niagara and back

Postby kriswak on Wed Jul 06, 2011 11:00 pm

First day. Delayed flight, Lucky to get on another flight.
Didn't get to Canada until 10PM.
Crossing the boarder.
Canadian Customs guy. "where are you from?" Me "California"
"where are you going?" me "Niagara falls"
Canadian Customs guy "Where do you work? "Do you know anyone in Windsor?" "Why didn't you fly into Buffalo" "This all seems strange to me"...

I didn't say I knew anyone, because last time of the whole Internet thing. I told him I would be touring throughout Ontario on my way to Niagara. And I travel all over the world by myself, last year I went to Calgary.
Well he let me in.

What do the Canadian Boarder agents have against single, white, females from California????? No other country has given me issues. But at least they let me in.

OK enough of a rant.
Here are my Pics from the first two touring days of Beautiful Ontario, Canada.

Kris, I wonder if they think you're some kind of "mule" being from SoCal, single and white. Who knows! I'm sorry they gave you a hard time. They do ask random questions.

Your pictures are lovely! The view of Detroit from Windsor is spectacular. I've never been to Point Pelee, but I am certainly aware of it. I loved the photos!

The Colio Winery looked interesting as well.

Beautiful photos, and now you are all the way near Lynners!!! I can't believe how far you've travelled in the past few days. That's amazing. I can't wait to see you!

Kris. Did you see me waving? I can't believe what a hard time the agents give you at the border.

Great pictures, once again. I'll have to pick your brain for photography tips when I see you. I really like the one of the bee and milkweed. All the scenery pics are gorgeous!

Wonderful photos! Makes everything seem so real to me...we are actually going to see each other very soon! I loved all the pictures. The bird and the photo at the winery where all the chairs/barrels/columns were lined up so beautifully are two of my favorites. I'm glad your interrogation didn't last too long!  See you in a day or two!

Hi Kwk,

Your photos are absolutely beautiful. I have really enjoyed them. I am not too sure if I even do pictures now. I just sort of quit and haven't gotten any good ones of Mini Cooper and never got one of He and Miss Katie before she passed almost one year ago. Wow, this has been a year filled with many of life's tests being sent to us, and we passed them all.

Glad you made it all the way. See you soon.

   ONE MORE DAY
WHERE ARE THE HAPPY DANCES? I NEED THEM MORE THAN EVER.

I JUST GOT BACK ONLINE AFTER BEING OFF FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS. THERE SEEMS TO BE SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY VONAGE MODEM. I HAVE TO CHECK THAT OUT.

Later, Elizabeth

Kwak, I can't believe how much ground you've covered already!!!

Your photos are beautiful. I am especially fond of Muskoka having spent time there as a child with a school friend on their private island. My Aunt also had her cottage on an island, near Gravenhurst. It's beautiful there. There are so many islands, that it is common to have only one family inhabit an island as a summer cottage.

I loved all of your photos! You are capturing such beautiful photos of Ontario. :D

I am impressed with your hiking skills, photography skills and travel skills!

Oh, I can't wait to meet you TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!
