In an unexpected turn of events we may be at Best Western more like 9:00 or 10:00p.m. Unfortunately after all the shuffling papers in the glovebox trying to prove to the dealership that our service agreement did INDEED include punctures to the tire...our registration form has disappeared for the car. We have looked desperately for it, but can't imagine the disappointment we'd feel if we were turned away at the border due to not having the registration card for his vehicle. So...on the side of caution, we will not be leaving at 5:00a.m. We will have to WAIT until the stupid DMV opens at 8:30a.m., get in a long line, fill out the form, get back in the long line, and then hopefully receive some kind of temporary registration card that we can present if needed. I am so bummed, but trying to stay positive. Flat tires, disappearing documents, that's ENOUGH stress. I am ready to see my DP buddies! Anyway, I doubt I'll be back on here, so I wanted to let you guys know not to worry if you didn't see/hear from us for awhile.

I won't argue against the side of caution, but in the many, many times we've crossed the border, in both directions, we have NEVER been asked for proof of ownership of our car! I simply can't imagine an instance why they would care. But it's up to you, of course.

Angie, I too have been presented with many, many hurdles just this week! At noon today I thought I couldn't go at the very last minute, due to all sorts of screw ups. Thank God for my OH. He came up with solutions and fixed everything and said I have waited entirely too long for this, and there was no way he was going to see me miss it.

I too would choose safe over sorry especially after such a long drive to the Border. Regardless of the Border, you should have those documents with you, in the car, at all times! Take your time, and a deep breath, and you'll be there when you get there, and we'll (God willing) all be there too waiting.

Linda had the best advice about the money. Use an ATM to withdraw the walking around cash, and either use your Debit Card, which are widely accepted here, or your Credit Card. Virtually everywhere in Canada takes Debit as we have that separate from our Credit Cards. It works better coming up here than it does when I go down there.

The dollar is virtually equal right now, and YES, most Canadian establishments will accept US or Canadian currency, especially "Border" towns. Crossing the bridge, or whichever method of Border crossing, usually has a small fee which is accepted in either currency. I still have $100.00 US in my wallet, but it cost me $140.00 CDN, so there it sits.

RJM's HO...you already crack me up! "Chicks, get control". We have it darling, and we can't wait to show you. Oh you do make me laugh. I was even talking about you today and how you also worked in a Head Shop, ergot our printing tshirt skills.

I did our shirts tonight and they turned out perfectly, despite not following the directions entirely. I didn't have any trouble with lifting.

Elliot is SO excited! He's been such a "helper" today and yesterday without even being asked. For a 15 year old boy, that is often notable. He even made sure the travel cooler bag was "good to go" today, along with packing the camera, and charging the battery pack.

Phyrie, I can't believe you are as close to me as Lansing!!! Yes, we will be there for cocktails at 5:00, or thereabouts, with bells on. We can all touch base through our cell phones for a start. I don't think we'll have to yell "puppy puppy". I know right now I will recognize "my friends/crowd".

Kwak, I am dying to look at today's entries on your thread. I haven't been that far yet.

Kian and Linda...I hope Kian is safe and sound at your home right now, relaxing. That is a very long day and missing the connecting flight is beyond annoying. Travel safely and we'll see you tomorrow!!!!

This is a massive effort by everyone, and I'm so glad we're able to do it. As I mentioned in the Misc. thread, everyone who is not physically present, will certainly be there in spirit. The Daily Puppy is a fabric and everyone is part of the threads the weave together to make the fabric. ♥

Margie, it's after midnight and I still have to print off my maps. I might do that in the morning, and reconfirm our dinner reservations as I've not yet heard from them.

No worries on that as they said, they might call me, otherwise if I could just give them a shout, once I'm checked in at the hotel, with a final number, that would be fine.

OH....I checked the Fireworks schedule and apparently there are Fireworks on Friday night as well as Sunday night. I checked last night and didn't write down the times and I should have. For some reason around 9:00, which seems reasonable, is stuck in my brain. The Falls are illuminated every night.

It's quite tempting to leave right now without the registration form knowing that you guys have never been asked for one. Still...after the idiotic things that have happened to us this week, I guess we shouldn't take a chance on not having it aboard. I heard your voice loud and clear on that one Mum...I mean, O&H's Mum.

I can't believe that by tonight I will be in the midst of my DP family. I'm looking forward to getting to know each of you better. My favorite thing to listen for is the unique laugh of each person. Hugs to you all...in person...soon!

I've been reading the last six pages and I can feel all of the excitement. I have my Skype ready on my phone. I had some problems with it on my Mac laptop so Nicholas just download the app and sign in. All of a sudden there were 4 requests. I have my calendar set for 5:00 pm central time for the Skype call. Kris and I are going to do a trial run this evening since I have never used Skype before.
