I called about them and they were already gone . Or I think I might have had a mini horse or two.But I did leave my number in case the people decided not to keep them.

Now that it's been mentioned, we did give away our Pony Grinch (whom I named) along with a proper cart, and all the tack that goes along with it, to a lovely man who was a farmer with several children.

They came to our house and the children were SO excited to have a pony. We had all outgrown her, and since the cart was purchased for me, and I was now afraid of it, they happily took the pony, cart and tack. I knew those children were going to love Grinch and take such good care of her. They were so happy. I think initially my Father was asking for some money because the cart cost a great deal, but once he met the family, he gave it all away.

We were happy because we knew Grinch was going to be all loved up for a long time. The children were so excited and happy, and I remember the Father (who drove miles for this) being such a lovely man.

I spoke too hastily when I said "if it's too good to be true, it probably is" as perhaps those people were in the same boat as we were. All we wanted for Grinch was a happy home, with a loving family. She certainly received that.

Brenda, you will have your mini farm one day, and RJM there is a Pig in your future as well!

Deb, I'm so happy Grinch went to a good home with children to love her.

The HO did say, just yesterday, that I may have a pig...IF I figure out a way to keep it away from him. :?
His reason..."It's a PIG!"

Ah, hell, he'll be out there "training" the pig, along with the dogs!! LOL! The HO NEEDS a pig. It'll keep him honest! Or something like that! LOL!

Now THAT would be a sight! The HO training Ruby, Kessler and the pig to all roll over...LOL!
Gizzie would still "do nothing". :P

LOL! RJM, seize the moment! He has agreed, and we all know what a softie he is. Although he says to keep it away from him, he can't possibly resist.

I laughed at Phyrie's comment as that is the first visual image I had as well! Apparently we're all on the same wave length!

George Clooney had/has a pet pig for years! I think it was a Vietnamese Pot Belly but he loved her and felt she could communicate as well as any dog. (I'm trying to give you fodder for your debate.)

OK, guys, you know I love the HO as much as anyone, but would he buy a George Clooney comparison? Hmmmm..... Perhaps after an evening in the barn? RJM, this is certainly a done deal. Start your pig shopping, woman! Oh man, I can hardly wait for pics of piggie litters!! *sigh*

A PIG FOR RJM!! Go shopping, farm style girl! The HO rocks and the moment that little piggy rolls over for a belly rub he will be in love. I just learned the shelter had a litter of pygmy pigs and they were sent to Colorado... :x Darn!

Heck if the HO is good with his bride getting her little pig, he can be George Clooney!!

Deb I love the "Grinch" story, I'm sure the family just loved her.

Emma yes horses are expensive to keep and they do require time or they become "hay burners". Tack, feed, vet care, farriers are all pricey. I wouldn't be without a horse trailer and truck, though I need to get a trailer again.
We have pasture which helps with the donks and the goats and I still have my halters and lead ropes. I just need to dig for a hoof pick and rasp, I hope I still have those. Thier hoofs need trimming soon.

Phyrie LOL! After having met your OH, you are completely correct in that he would not go for a George Clooney comparison! I am imaging his reaction right now.

RJM, your HO loves you so much "even when she's hammered". LOL!!! I don't know if you saw that post yet. He's adorable. I can't wait to see your new piggy. I'm so jealous as I've always wanted one, but I can't be truly jealous as I'm happy for your happiness. Now hurry up and find the Piggy that is waiting to call you Mum. ♥

Kian, I'm sure you'll find all those things. Hoof picks are relatively inexpensive but the tack is not. I would think that any halters you have now would be far too big for the donkeys. The leads will come in handy. I am enjoying your Whimsey Farm, and the potential for RJM to start a wee farm of her own. :D

A mini farm for RJM, oh my heart be still.

I am using my baby halters, which fit Cola just fine still a little big for Banjo. I am starting recall training again, OH did not do it while I was gone and then being gone again, well they forgot!

I've already been on Petfinder, but the closest rescue they have listed is in Ohio. :?
I have farm connections, I WILL find my Scarlet Petunia.

Deb, I did see the HO's post...LOL!

RJM, he is quite adorable and incredibly amusing! :D 8)

Kian, I'm glad you already have halters that fit. I didn't even think about foal halters. I love anything baby, including halters. We need more pictures.

I was thinking that today, I need to update the pics. I would have a great shot today, the neighbours goats love to come over with their kitten. Today it was Scout, their goats and the kitten all together playing. Sorry I missed it  I know I must at least carry the P&S camera in my pocket.

Re: Welcome to my Whimsy Mini Farm! (The little goats)

Postby kian on Tue Jul 26, 2011 6:43 pm

I have been trying to get some cute pics of the goats and the kitten playing, everytime it's cute I have no camera....yes I am bonking head. Here are some pics I took last week, I was using my P&S camera which is slow to reset so I missed it when the kitten and Scout were playing.

I went to a Farm Store today that had a sign "Potbellied Pigs", they were out. There will be more coming next week, I was told that thier supplier sometimes brings silver/white ones. I did some research on them today and am still thinking about getting Scout a buddy instead. Another goat will be great for her to snuggle with in the winter.

These goats are 3 weeks younger than Scout

They love to come over and rest on my steps. It took a friend by surprise during a visit last week! He wasn't sure what they were until he got close.
