A PLEA FOR HELP! Lost/Stolen Dog **FOUND!!**

Hello fellow dog lovers,

My black and white border collie has been missing since 7/26/11 7:30am eastern standard time. He was last seen in Rye, NY. We alerted the police and searched high and low but to no avail. Obviously we are continuing to search and post flyers, but in case anyone comes across someone trying to sell a very sweet, but scared of strangers 4 year old border collie, please please please email me. He answers to the name of Sam, Sammie, and Sampson. He had his collar and a leash and his microchip when he went missing. He is medium-large size, and as I said before, a little shy of strangers (particularly males). He's pretty shaggy right now and is in desperate need of a haircut.

If you hear of anything, particularly in the NY-Connecticut area, please let me know.

How did you find him? I'm sure lots of members will want to know as a missing dog is the worst nightmare. Was it the microchip?

Give him loads of loving, (like you need to be told that), but from all of us.

Do let us know how he "escaped" and how he was returned. I know many, many members will be interested in hearing about your successful outcome.

Hooray for Sammie's return!!! I'm so thrilled for you and for him. Lots of hugs to him! And As Oliver & Henry's Mum asked....what happened?

Looking at his photos brought memories of our border collie, Calvin, who was stolen when I was in high school. He was literally taken from our driveway when he was let out to do his business. That was back before microchipping or tatooing...my mother made lots of noise with the local authorities and the humane society. Calvin mysteriously returned a couple of nights later - in the middle of a snowstorm...and he was bone dry. My father followed the tracks...to the end of the driveway.
