Ripped Older Woman *Shelter APBT*

Postby iheartmydog on Tue Sep 27, 2011 1:48 pm

Meet Tosca, (named after a female body builder) she's an older gal I've been taking out at work. She's been here since the beginning of the month, and didn't have a name so the other trainers and I thought of one for her today.

She is awesome, ball obsessed but polite about it (in the sense that she doesn't jump on you, she sits and stomps her front feet up in down)
They have her as a 3 year old, but her teeth are awfully warn down and yellow (but no tartar) I think they put her as a younger dog because of her being in such good shape.
I hope she gets adopted, she's such a cool dog.

Cel, from the thread name, I thought this was going to be a spammer, then I saw you posted it. :D

I know exactly who Tosca Reno is, and that's a perfect name for this muscular girl!
She sounds like a great dog, I hope she gets adopted soon.

Thanks! right after I posted I cringed remembering I didn't change the title. It's an inside joke. When I came to work an animal control officer came up to me and said "Have you worked with that ripped older woman?" I was totally confused.

Although I don't know who "Tosca" is, I DO know what "ripped" means! And this dog sure is. I think I would put a few pounds on her, if she were mine, but I've never owned one of the bully breeds before, so maybe that's just my eye. She's a beaut, though, and she looks like she's very amenable, friendly, and willing to play! I hope she finds her new home very soon.

This is genetics for her... she's been here since the beginning of the month and overfed on Science Diet and hasn't gained really anything. She would need a lot of food to put on weight. (Vet ruled out health problems) On APBTs she is at a conditioned shape (like what would be desirable for ADBA shows)

You very rarely see a APBT truly in shape unless you're into ADBA showing so often times when people see a ADBA conditioned dog they jump to skinny. Which is understandable, we were raised accepting greyhounds to be very lean but we're used to seeing thick bullies.

Here is a very fit, very healthy Staffordshire Bull Terrier

And this would be underweight.

You want to see muscle over the ribs, if they breath in then it's okay to see rib but at resting you shouldn't be able to count them. I'll use this dog since him muscles are very defined, at first he looks ribby but if you look closer it's muscle coverage.

Let me know if I explained that badly.

That's a beautiful Staffy there(that jumping one).
Our little Saffy turned out no where near muscle to the other staffy's I see, haha. But I don't mind. :D

WOW, you really can see all that muscle in Tosca! She is a beautiful colour too!
And how she is so playful and cheerful I think she'll find a GREAT family to live with!
I don't think she looks like 3 years though, hehe. I see a little grey in the face.
Please tell us if she gets adopted!!! :)
