Kwak, those are great pictures!

Obviously your taste in music is varied, which is a good thing. We all need a little something. :D

Ages ago, there was a VH1 show (I think) where they reunited bands that had not been together since forever, and Duran Duran was one of them. I watched the show and it seemed as if that was a catalyst to their return. I was never a huge fan, unlike the rest of the free world who were into "The Police" and "Duran Duran", however, it's always fun to go back and hear the music of our youth. 8)

They really did epitomize the 80's pop scene. Simon LeBon is the only band member whose name I know. "Hungry like the wolf" was a huge hit. (Did I just get the name of the song wrong?! ) They were a favourite of Diana, Princess of Wales.

I'm surprised they allowed cameras in the event. I had to make do with my Cell phone, on the sly, the last two times I saw Neil Young.

We can live vicariously through you!

I kinda hid the camera. That's why I didn't bring my huge one. I wasn't the only one that pulled out a real camera.

And yes, my taste in music is varied. I get in moods where I will listen to 80's pop, then I will get on a country kick, then rock, then alternative. If it has a good beat and I can sing to it I like it. I can't really say I have a favorite type of music. I just like music.

Wow Kwak, I've just been catching up on this thread and can't believe all the cool stuff I've missed. I love the zoo/ wildlife park photos. I love elephants (you may have noticed I have quite a few paintings of them). I love the macaw photos and I love the national park photos. What an amazing place. I especially luuuurrve the Tim McGraw photos, mmmmm yum. I especially loved Phyrie's comments on them too. I didn't think I liked country but I really liked the song he did with Gwyneth Paltrow and I really like Lady Antebellum.

Duran Duran, that takes me back. What the heck are they doing in California? I liked Duran Duran because when I was a teen you either liked them or Wham and Wham were cr&p!

Great photos, keep 'em coming.

Tracy, you didn't like "Wake me Up Before you Go Go"???? LOL!!!! :D  8)

I also like Lady Antebellum, at least what I've heard of them so far. Like Kwak, my taste in music is broad and varied. I can't say I like a particular genre over another. Of course, everyone knows my favourite musician is Neil Young, but perhaps that's because he plays nearly every type of genre, and his music has been the soundtrack to my life. He is not for everyone, but I notice at his concerts there are business people, bikers, youngsters, ME, country fans, as well as rock and roll fans.

Those pictures of Tim McGraw are delicious.

Good lord! That song was the one that taught me that I was allowed to hate a popular song. I was about 14 (?) when it came out, and all my friends were getting all gooey over it, and I was totally baffled. THEN I saw the video, and just laughed my ass off! My friends said I was a freak, but I didn't care. I know good when I hear it, and that wasn't it! LOL! I never allowed popular opinion to make up my mind for me again. Hmmm, was this the genesis of "Phyrie"? Who knows! Muahahahaha!

Ditto everything you've just said Phyrie. I HATED "wake me up before you go go" Still do. What the heck is a "go go" anyway?
Worse than that was "Last Christmas" which I'm still tortured with every year. Everytime I hear it, I hear him sing "gev" instead of "gave" and it grates even more. Gggggrrrrr!

I have eclectic taste in music too Deb(just doesn't include Wham  I like some of Neil Young's music.

Phyrie, I remember WHAM! from the early to mid-80's, in my early 20's when I first moved to Ottawa. It's amazing that they were a hit 10 years prior to that where you lived. :P It only feels like it was *that* long ago. Perhaps there is a blurred line between WHAM and the Bay City Rollers!

Tracy, I've never noticed "gev" in that song, but we aren't inundated with it here as you might be there. I'll have to listen harder next time. That's hilarious! What about "Careless Whisper", or was that simply George Michael? :D

Sorry we are totally thread hogging Kwak. It's a fun walk down Memory Lane as I'm sure you remember a lot of the bands/songs we are mentioning. 8)

I liked Wham. I also remember them from the early 80's when I was in High School. Phyrie don't come to my house at Christmas because you just might hear that song. LOL it's in my Xmas playlist.

Kwak, no one judges another on their taste in music. That's what makes the world go 'round. :D I also enjoy Classical Music, as well as those "feel good" cd's of Classical music set to the sound of the Ocean. Whatever floats your boat darling.

I love your adventures and living vicariously through you. In fact, I even mentioned you to my lawyer (back in July right after we had been in Niagara) that you had come all the way from SoCal and visited the Bruce Peninsula. He has a cottage there, in an area with which my Mum was familiar, and was headed straight there after that odd and fateful day in Court.

I was telling him how adventurous you are and that you had gone from Pelee Island all the way to the Bruce and back to Niagara. 8)

Where are "we" going next?! :?:

Kris, I love your new avatar of Izzy. :)

Kwak, I'm loving your photos! I can't even remember the name of the place where my brother lived in New Zealand. It had something to do with "Charlotte". He just loves it there, and didn't want to return. He was outvoted by his wife and son though.

It looks like you had an amazing time. The water falls almost don't look real, they are so gorgeous. That is frame worthy!
