RJM, your post would have been perfect for one of our Grown Up Pups recently named "Blue". He is a Hound who lives outside and sleeps in the Chicken Coop. He's happy there, on HIS farm, and his terms. The thrashing his humans took from some of our members was ridiculous.
Not every dog is meant to be a house dog, and you of all people, are best to explain this. Needless to say, many posts were deleted and several members, who are regular posters on the Front Page received messages from me.
I even used the Siberian as an example of dogs who live to be outdoors.
My first experience with the breed was more than 30 years ago with our au pair who bred them, along with her husband and how July and August were extremely difficult months, especially on the Show Circuit because they "blow their coats". Many breeds shed endlessly like Cavaliers!!!
It is simply a matter of constant brushing and vacuuming.
Richard knows the most about this. I've been in recent contact with him and I'm sure when he is able, he'll respond in here.
