After fighting kidney disease, my little boy is now in the valley with the rainbow bridge. He has a brother with him there, along with many other of my pets. He is missed more than words can say. But he suffers no more, and I'll see him again in Heaven.

It's not 'Goodbye,' my little man. It's just 'see ya later.' You will always be loved so very much.

Robin, you were Nugget's Guardian until he became an Angel. My heart just breaks for you.

You will be together again one day, and until then, you have an Angel watching over you. I read your post in the Health Section, and commented there as well.

Words can't begin to express what I want to convey. Please know that we are all here for you, with broad shoulders on which to lean. Not everyone understands the loss of a dog, the same way that dog lovers do.

Thank you, everyone, for your condolences. I know my little boy is running and playing in Heaven. He has a brother with him, so he's not alone. And I'm sure he's with my other pets, probably harrassing my other cats and rabbits.

My neighbor still has one of Nugget's other litter mates, and I've been getting my puppy fix from him for now. It really helps.

And I've been trying to focus on the cute things Nugget did. We have a 1/2 mile walk to our mailbox. Charlie (my other dog), Nugget, and I would take our daily walk down to the mailbox to get the mail. I'm not quite sure how it started, but Nugget would sit and wait until I gave him an envelope to carry back to our house. He would carry it all the way back, and would act so proud as he did it.

Robin, I just saw this thread and I am so, so sorry to hear that precious little Nugget didn't make it. It is so heart rending when a little one is taken before they have a chance to live but I have always felt that they were too perfect to live in this corrupt world. Nugget's life was short but left so many cherished memories and one day you will be rejoined with him.

Hugs to you and I hope, in time, you will be led to another sweet soul who will fill that empty gap in your heart.
