That is terrific news! Congratulations to Parker and Bubba. No one could resist either of those two, but I feel like that about any dog without a home. I love the photo of Bubba howling! Too cute, and Parker looks like he has a terrific sense of humour.

That Beauty has the perfect spot between her eyes for a kiss! So nice to hear Parker and Bubba are on their way to their forever homes (hope they don't get brought back for some dumb reason)!

Love hearing about your dogs and seeing all the cute pictures.

Nicholas is going to rescue on Monday!

I thought I posted here but I guess I didn't, I had been taking him out the entire time I was at work for the past few days because after spending more time with him I found out he was in great need of work. He was very mouthy, zero manners, persistent, rude, etc, etc. He is a really really nice boy though, he's sweet and man is he smart. My 3rd shaping exercise I managed to shape him to use a brick for a pillow. I did a bunch of rev up and calm down exercises since he was very easily excited and would start nipping/barking. And it helped a lot he'd just trot next to me if I quickened pace after a few sessions. We played tug quite a bit and I managed to get an out and have him sit for it as well.
He has a lot of potential and would be a fantastic dog for a sporting/working/active home, he just needs someone who knows what they're doing and is willing to put time into working with him. Hopefully this rescue has fosters like that.

Cel, he looks like a lovely, smart boy who needs a job, and once he knows what it is, will do it extremely well. :D

I am impressed with all that you have learned in the past couple of years, and how much you have grown. The Canine Community is a better place for having you in it! 8)

Wow Nicholas looks a lot like Sadie! I know that full attention intense look.

I really enjoy coming to this thread to see what dogs you are working with. Deb said it perfectly!

Good luck with Angel, she's a beauty!

Cel, for some reason, the picture you've attached is not showing up for me. All I see is the word "image".

I was going to quote you so you could see what I see, and then I saw the link typed out in full, but it is not appearing as a photo. I refreshed my page to no avail. I would offer advice on how to fix this, except I have no clue. You probably know more about it than I do. :P

We'd love to see the picture of the new "girly".

That's because it was removed from the site, she got adopted yesterday! :D !!

Nor Cal BC rescue was going to take Nick, but apparently right as they were loading him up somebody adopted him. (The trainers talked to her about his behaviors and she was fine and ready to work with him.) Many he got several good things at once. And apparently we adopted out 15 dogs yesterday!

I took out a big guy named Clyde today, he's a owner surrender apparently a German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix. I was recommended to take him out, they said he needed to work on boundaries... I don't know why, he was soooo well mannered, very sweet, especially considering his size. He is a BIG boy, I really like him, he was quite cute and puppyish when I took him outside. He does that cute little thing Dakota does when he's bored and wanting me to do something. I was giving him a break from mind work and he was laying down next to me looking at me. He swatted the air and did a faint playful growl with that same face that they seem to know is hard to resist.

After zooming around the yard several times he decided the table was a cool place to hang.

Posing is nice when you get treats.

That is a 6 foot fence... at least.

And I didn't have much time with this guy because it took awhile to get him comfortable with putting a collar on. (I let the dogs do it on their own time, treats and pull your hand back. I had to make this one large though and gradually make it smaller) his name is Buddy , and he seems like someone really messed him up, jumpy, and would stiffen to the touch. (Not like "I'm going to bite" but more like he was expecting something bad to happen.) He'd get excited easily and would get nippy but every time he did he'd immediately slink to the ground without us even reacting. After playing with a few toys he became more confident and was seeking out attention.

He was quite odd with his toys... After bringing them back he'd drop them and rub his shoulder into it until he wasn't on it anymore then would flop on the ground like so.

He reminds me of a wild canine/weasel/fox like thing.

Cel, both Clyde and Buddy are just darling. I would take Clyde in a heartbeat if I could. Buddy needs a kind, patient person, much like Margie is with Jose, to learn that humans can be trusted again. Poor wee thing, as I can only imagine what has made him that way. It breaks my heart.

I can't imagine anyone giving up Clyde! He's beautiful and seems like a lovely fellow, full of personality. I'm sure he would make a very loyal and loving companion. :D

Little Buddy, who has such unique markings, deserves a pampered life in a calm, loving environment. I become angry when I think of humans mistreating animals. He is so cute with his toys, like a peace offering.

I hope to read of both of their adoptions soon.

If I lived closer, I would take Buddy in a heartbeat. He is so cute, and I think he'd get along great with Maya. I hope he finds the home he deserves soon.

Looking at sweet Buddy again, I feel the same way Sylvia. I just don't think my home would be suited to him, as it's too busy here. He is a darling, and so beautifully marked.

I do hope the right person comes along for Buddy, as well as Clyde...and every single dog out there tonight who doesn't have a home to call their own. ♥

It infuriates me as well Deb and sadly I see it far too often at the shelter. :( I can just hope that the homes they go to are kind to them.

Kian, I also think ACD, someone I know actually has a known ACD mix who weighs 20lbs. Buddy is around 17lbs.

Angel was already returned for not getting along with their pets. :( So I'll probably be able to take her out soon. Also I overheard that Clyde will be going to a Great Pyrenees rescue.

I took Diesel out today (Yes the same dog from the picture I posted a few pages back), he's been here quite awhile and just got neutered. I brought him in just to see how he is since he was quite loud in the kennels. He is very well mannered, I was able to steer him while walking through the kennels with one hand he was so good. He had good focus, just all around good boy.

Buddy looks like a Disney dog!!

I'm sorry to hear Angel was returned so quickly. That's sad, someone made a snap decision didn't they. I hope she finds a good home soon. That just breaks my heart.
