Another way one can tell prior to posting is to look at the date of the very last post. Unless, depending on the subject matter (as Emma indicated) one has something new to add, to go back and revisit a conversation that occurred several years ago just bumps the thread to the top, thereby giving people like you the idea that something new has been posted.
Simply check the last date of the last post. As Moderators, we attempt to delete as many "old posts" as possible, but again, depending on the Section and the Thread itself, denotes what should and should not be removed.
This whole conversation really should have taken place in the Site Problems and Suggestions section as it has little or nothing to do with Dobermans.
Moving forward, let's keep the exchange on information on this thread strictly to Dobermans, and if someone wishes to send me a PM for clarification, please feel free.
