I should specify when I say "normal pattern" I mean any morph not specifically a normal colored Ball Python. Confusing myself already!

He seems to be growing at a nice pace, I've kept his feeding to every 5 days which is suppose to be ideal for a normal growth rate. Some will feed double to increase size. I don't really have any experience to compare his growth to others but he's already moving up to fuzzy mice.

Wow! Ryuk is absolutely stunning!

Snakes are such amazing creatures, I love to just sit and watch them. Although, I must admit, I will happily hold one, but I do occasionally get worried and nervous around them.

Haven't posted any updates in awhile.

Ryuk's currently "ugly" from his shed cycle.
(Bit of a feeding bump)

I took him outside for the first time on the weekend of the reptile party/show, gosh his pupils got small! Kind of frightening.

Dakota can't be in a photo shoot without doing something cute.

Dakota is SO sweet! ♥

As always, I'm leery about the potential for Rodents in these photos, so I glance through them extremely fast and if none are spotted, I go back and have a better look. Pathetic, I know. :|

Deb there is a rodent that Ryuk is eating. It amazes how they can eat them. Your brave to take him outside, he looks pretty settled in the grass. That's funny you got Dakota to have a snake on his head, mine would eat it for sure!

It is indeed fascinating, especially given that they can detach their jaws, even in the midsection. They often "yawn" after eating to get their jaws back into place. They also breath out of the slit their tongue comes out of so that they can breath despite having a large meal in their mouth. Crazy how animals adapt. :)

Ryuk's pretty relaxed and easy going so I was pretty trusting in him that he wouldn't dart. Although he did try to push his head into the grass, he didn't try to take off.

And Alice would most definitely eat him, Dakota's the only one who's really good about it. (It's funny, he has the highest prey drive of all the dogs, he's very good at differentiating pet from wild prey.)

Ryuk is beautiful. I used to have two snakes (one being a Corn Snake), and could sit with them for hours. The way snakes move and generally are is extremely theraputic, and I'd always put them back into their tanks feeling calm and relaxed.

They can sure give the illusion, though!

Our turtle flaps and splashes and freaks out whenever I walk by the tank. But that's because he's been conditioned to know that me = food sometimes. So he gets excited EVERY time. :)[/quote]

My pet Pumpkinseed Sunfish does a whole dance around the tank whenever he thinks I am going to feed him. It is actually quite entertaining to watch
