No you can't change my mind.....where I live everything is farrrr away, even though there is something always near just not necessarily what you need.....the job thingy could be a bit much....so I would have to be moderately independantly wealthy or have a reallly terrific skill....(smile) guess everywhere has pros and cons but for me yours has major pros....

Yes it does have major pros. Five minutes walking from my house takes me to views such as the ones in the video. It is a very tightknit community because it is fairly self reliant.

I think I'd quite like Texas. It's warmer for a start. That's a big plus!

If you'd like to see where other DPers live we have a thread called "Where you live", that has photos and descriptions. I like learning about other places in the world.

This is the thread:

I say we all just go and visit Tracy! :P On my way home, I'll kidnap her, and bring her across the Pond to explore my area, as well as other parts of Canada, and then on to the U.S. for a National Tour. :D

Sounds good to me. I have a guest room and I am friends with at least three guest house owners so there's plenty of room for anyone who wants to come and you all know I'm up for visiting anyone else that will have me.

Natalie, we don't mean to "thread hog", but at least you'll have some places over which to drool for your next big vacation. It's #1 on my list! 8)

Wow so many places to see, so little time (smile) my dogs would have to come with me, I mean they would be thrilled to see such sights, alas, travelling with them isn't always easy is it.....We were planning to move to New Zealand not too long ago and was checking into all that we needed to check into and then I came across their quarantine for I believe it was 2 or 3 months.....it was an YIKES moment......my husband and I kept discussing it but finally the decision was made for us and we but a kabash on the move......whew, the trauma.........but New Zealand is another one of those gorgeous places.....

Thanks for the site you gave me to visit.....
