Eskimo is so funny! Remi doesn't seem to mind her "cat blanket" too much, she's such a sweet girl!

Did you know Remi can do an Elvis impression?

A cute video of Monster being playful. 8) http://youtu.be/Wah9CV1gjuI
Remis snowball game. She was a bit tired in this video though so she's not as hyper and excited about the whole thing, however it's still fun to watch. http://youtu.be/lc5wXcDFeLw

Ashley, how did you know I was needing a Monster & Remi fix? The photos are adorable, as are the videos!

Monster is so cute with his tail wagging, and Remi is so smart to know her ball was buried in that giant snowball. Clever girl!!! :D

Elliot watched the videos with me and enjoyed them as well. I also loved the picture of Remi snoozing on the couch with her bare belly exposed, just in case someone might wish to give it a rub. 8)

I LOVE the new pictures! I'm amazed by how straight Monster's tail becomes when he is sleeping or resting. :D He looks like such a happy boy in the warm sunshine!

Remi looks as silly and as lovely as ever. 8) I love her smile in the last photo. She does enjoy unusual sleeping positions.

Ziggy looks quite comfy in the basket, and I thought Monster looked rather amusing hanging with the Cats. Great photos!

I love the cat in the basket! I can so relate to Monster and the snow, I want ours gone and feel the sun again. Remi sleeping with her head out of the crate is a great shot. I see the bug Remi! Very cute pictures.

Deb, Monster's tail can go completely straight while he sleeps.

The other day we walked the dogs up to the park for a picnic. So we had Remi be the pack mule--she carried the food in her backpack, considering this would be the second time wearing it (the first time with items in the pockets) she did great. She looked so proud of herself.
I didn't get any pictures of it though. I guess I was just lost in the moment.

Once it got dark we payed hide and seek with Remi outside which she loves. I believe she enjoys finding people more than toys or treats.

Also we had a muskrat stuck in our fence.
The dogs didn't want anything to do with it, that's not a complaint though.

On one of our walks this guy on my block that I've talked to a number of times just comes up to me and Remi and starts throwing treats at her and I tell him to stop. He nods his head as he understands, but than he pulls out a huge dog biscuit the size of Remis head. She had that gone before I even finished telling him not to give her that. :x
I lectured him on giving treats to dogs and that he should always ask the owner if he can give them a treat and how much. The next day he told me he did research by asking people that have dogs if he should do what I told him. No surprise that most of them said yes to asking first!

Ashley, as friendly as that fellow may seem, it is also somewhat scary! Who knows what he is feeding your dog? I realize you are aware of the danger, but his behaviour is alarming. I'm glad to read that he at least asked others, and realized the error of his ways. I would steer clear of that fellow from what I've just read. :|

I did enjoy the rest of your post. Monster is such a funny chap! Elliot is completely fascinated with Pugs thanks to Monster. He loves all things Pug now.

Remi is such a darling. I can see her walking so proudly, doing "her job" carrying the picnic! Bless her sweet heart. I'm so glad she has made such a remarkable recovery. I remember clearly the days of her early recovery. You have been such an angel to Remi, as she is for you now. ♥

I'm not surprised that her favourite game is finding people! That is so sweet. Thank goodness neither of the dogs were interested in the Muskrat! They can be quite vicious, especially if trapped as the one you had was. However did you manage to free it? Did you call Animal Control? Thank goodness both Remi and Monster, and well as the Cats, were safe.

He's not really a stranger, he's actually best friends with my neighbor and has given me great advice on my business. I guess I worded it wrong and made it seem like he was a creeper. However I don't like people feeding my dogs treats without asking and without knowing what the treats are.

Oh I'm sorry I forgot to mention that the muskrat was long dead.

Ashley, on both points, phew and phew! :D

That fellow did sound like a creeper, and I'm so glad (in a strange way) that the Muskrat was dead. I hope you had Animal Control or some other agency move it as it could have been rabid. I'm also glad that you actually know the fellow who wanted to give the treats, and appreciate your sentiment about people asking first. I was quite worried about your safety. :|

Thank goodness the muskrat was dead, they can be quite vicious, and i have the vet bill to prove it!

I am loving all the pictures, Ashley. Your gang is so darn adorable.
I saw a pug the other day, and immediately thought of Monster...but this one was much fatter, and snorted constantly...LOL!!

The photos of Remi and Monster paint a lovely picture of wonderful dog life. They are both so very beautiful. I wish all dogs could have such a sparkle of happiness in their eyes and smiles. Regards from Liz, Daisy and Buddy!

RJM, Monster snorts however it is usually only when he is sniffing something. Which one of your poor babies got attacked by a muskrat?
I believe that is strangled itself as the holes in the chain fence are rather small especially compared to the size of the muskrat. I'm glad it was dead too because its head was stuck facing in the yard and who knows what would have happened. :|

We tore up the garage floor a few days ago (it sunk about a foot or two over the years and there was a big crack) so until it's finished (which may take 2 weeks!) I have to bring the dogs around through the front door into the backyard. Usually they go through the garage to go outside and when I bring them on walks I would put them out back then we would proceed through the gate in the backyard. So they never go through the front door. You can just imagine how confusing this is for them.
I set up a routine for them though. When they're inside they don't have their collars on so once they want to go outside I will put one of their collars on first, make sure no one is walking down the street and allow the one with the collar on access out the door and have them sit and wait, then I say "okay, out back" and they go right to the back gate. Then I just do the same for the other one if they want out too. Bringing them inside is basically the same thing.
Putting their leashes on is safer I know, but as long as no one is walking or biking passed the house they stay with me. Also they just basically go straight to the door and gate, some times however they go to the car doors.

Guess what yesterday was! Miss Remingtons Birthday! i can hardly believe that she is 2!

I am thinking of working on getting Remi Canine Good Citizen certified, or whatever it is called. I have been slacking on her training ever since the surgery and I think now is a good time. She really enjoys learning and training, maybe even more than playing...although not more than playing with her doggie friends. It will most likely be hard work but it will be good for her.

♥ HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SWEET MISS REMINGTON! ♥

I love all of the new pictures. Remi is such a darling, and I'm sure she will do well with training. She is such a smart girl, and so willing to please. Remi would make an excellent "Canine Good Citizen". Wow, I can't believe she is 2 already. :D

I know how frustrating it is when we can't put our dogs out in the manner to which we're accustomed. It was at least six months after moving in here before we could put Oliver in the back as there was no deck attached, and the drop was significant! We didn't even have any grass (new home) until then as well, so I would be standing on my front porch, with the "flexi-lead" at 7:00 a.m. in March, in various states of undress so Oliver could relieve himself. Fortunately most of the homes were not yet built around me, but I did get to know my neighbours quite well in that time. :P

Do be careful though as you can't predict when a passerby might come, or a car. While it is a nuisance to attach a leash each and every time, and walk them to the gate, better safe than sorry. I know it's a hassel, but it only takes one cat or squirrel to upset the whole applecart. One has to plan an accident. 8)

The garage will be sorted in no time, and in the meantime, HAPPY BIRTHDAY REMI!!! ♥
