Yoshi & Bandit

Postby cnguyen209 on Tue Mar 20, 2012 4:04 am

Hi everyone,
My name is Catherine, currently 16 and I am a die hard dog lover. I am new member to dailypuppy and i just joined on March 19, 2012. I have always wanted a four legged Furry companion that would join me in my future journey. So, i searched for a reputable breeder, but soon turned to the more ethical decision of saving a dogs life. Which lead to my first adoption a Golden Retriever Mix puppy from a rescue in Modesto,CA. I Named him Yoshi(Yesterdays Dailypuppy). Months later, my family adopted our second dog, Siberian Husky named Bandit. Today my family has 2 unique dogs that have changed our lives.

For More Pics Take a look at their albums.

Although, I would like to know your opinion of what Yoshi could be mixed with. I would appreciate it. :D

Welcome to the Daily Puppy! I remember Yoshi from yesterday's Front Page. He is a darling, and was extremely popular.

May I suggest you try using a Photo Hosting site for your pictures? Most of us use Photobucket. It would make it easier to see the photos you post in the Forums.

Kudos to you for adopting. I have had several rescues in my life, but right now, I have two Cavaliers, Oliver & Henry. We're in London, Ontario, Canada. Approximately, where are you located?

Welcome to DP, Catherine, and to Yoshi and Bandit. I saw Yoshi featured as POTD and was so happy that you made a thread to introduce Bandit, as well. Both of them are simply georgous. I have a special place in my heart for anyone who rescues animals, as there are so many precious ones who don't have or wont get permanent homes so everytime I hear someone has rescued even one, I smile.

Again, a big welcome from Sher in NC, USA and my two boys, Prince and Coby.

Thank you for the welcoming! :)

And i agree rescuing/adopting is just such a great thing to do and should be promoted for the unfortunate dogs without homes. Since, Yoshi was POTD I had to give my buddy Bandit his fair share because i love them both equally. :D

You misread my post. I said I have had "several" rescues, not seven. I haven't actually ever counted how many rescues I've had, but I appreciate your message. Throughout my life, including my time as a child, there have been far more than seven.

Thank you for resizing your photos. Both Yoshi and Bandit are gorgeous. Oliver and Henry were not rescues, but every pup born deserves a loving, safe, forever home. I wanted Cavaliers and waited a very long time to have Oliver and then Henry. I wouldn't change that for the world.

You are a very enthusiastic "puppy parent" which is wonderful. Both of your dogs are ever so lovely.

Sorry Deb, i guess when i saw 7 my mind just jumped ahead. Still, i give credit to you and your family for giving a great home to all your rescues and pups that deserve it. To me, seven+ rescues is a lot since my family and i have just started.
I'm only 16 and in my future i want to give a loving home to as much dogs and pups as i can. But, also, i agree their is always a certain breed that i want to own in the future. Certainly, Oliver and Henry are the dogs you always wanted and all dogs deserve a home. For that i look up to you. :D

Catherine, you are far too kind. I'm sure as you come to know me better on these Forums, you'll discover that I grew up in a large family, in the Country, with all sorts of pets. We had dogs and horses (usually 6 dogs and 10 horses at any given time), and few cows (more or less as pets), as well as a Monkey for a while, and some exotic birds. It was like Green Acres meets the Twilight Zone. :D

I am now a Mother of two boys, aged 20 and nearly 16, so I've had a long time to have lots of dogs. Yoshi and Bandit are both very lucky to have such an enthusiastic human with whom to share their life as you clearly are. Enjoy every minute with both of them, and when the times comes, you'll have others. 8)

That's Amazing! :D I've seen horses, cows and Monkeys before in my life but, never actually lived with them. That's crazy. (in a good way) It must of been nice living with all those animals. I imagine it to be a very beautiful scene.

I hope your son's are treating you well. Teens now a days (In Cali) are quite rebellious. I have to admit I was said to be a pain in the rear (by my mom) but, i learned my lesson. Thank you Deb, You are really too Generous in words. I'd have to say, I really wish to have more dogs in my life but, the thought of loosing one is very terrifying.

Also an update on Yoshi, who turned one March 16th.

Such a Major difference.

Catherine, I just love Yoshi and Bandit! Yoshi has really grown into such a handsome fellow. :D

I really can't imagine you being a "difficult" child at any point in your life. I am most fortunate as both of my boys are very respectful to their Mother, which hasn't always been easy as I am a divorced and have been since my youngest was 3 and my older child was 7. They love their dogs and are very kind to all creatures, as well as polite. I insist on that! I know that some teens are extremely disrespectful to their parents, but that is usually because they've been overindulged rather than parented. Suddenly parents wonder why their teens won't listen! It's not rocket science.

You are still young and have plenty of time to love many dogs. The thought of losing even one is unbearable, but we learn something from each of them, and they leave their own paw prints on our heart that never, ever goes away. In some ways, it is almost harder losing a pet than a human as the rest of the world (except the DP world) does not really understand how truly important our dogs become. Fortunately, you won't have to worry about that for a long time yet. :)

I'm glad you are meeting other DP members. Emma is a lovely "young person" who has many gorgeous dogs. We enjoy our younger membership, especially the ones with smarts and respect.

Thank Deb!
Honestly, I'm not that difficult,I'm just slow on my chores. Unlike the the children on Wife Swap, if you have ever seen it. The Children on the show can be so disrespectful. Sometimes I wish could slap them.

Deb you are a strong and independent woman! Raising two boys for the past 14 years. I give you props for that. Also, to raise well mannered boys with "parenting" and not overindulgence is super good. hahaha Really, though. I agree with your Rocket Science statement!

I know right? No one seems to really understand the pain of loosing a pet unless they have actually owned a pet before.
I'm Glad your saying that because I feel animals bring out another side of us and truly do imprint on us. Becoming our best friends whether their loyal as a German Shepherd or aloof as a Siberian Husky.
That is true i still have 10 years plus left with them. :D

Thank you! It's really cool meeting new members on DP! Especially, when they are located in a places you wouldn't expect, Like England and Canada! Two places I would visit in a heart beat! Also, knowing that Emma is a "Young Person" too is so intriguing. DP is such a great site to speak and receive advice from all over the world Literally.
