Reptile Show (Snakes, Lizards, Tortoise)

Postby iheartmydog on Sun Mar 18, 2012 8:00 pm

I took pictures for a local guy who does reptile shows for parties and other events. (I do have permission to post these) I thought I'd share for the other reptile lovers on here. :)

First, little Crested Gecko named Kermit

Honduran Milk Snake (I believe, not 100% sure, one of the 25 Milk Snake species. )

A Uromastyx, funny lookin' fellow.
Image
King Brown Snake (This is also a guess :P , again I wasn't paying attention to what he said)
Image
Angel, a albino California Kingsnake

This gal's a bit scared of snakes, Angel makes a good mind changer.

Bearded Dragon (normal)
Image
Spike, Sulcata Tortoise
Image
Brazilian Rainbow Boa, their iridescent shine is stunning in person.

Red Tail Boa Constrictor

I hadn't had any real experience with this species before meeting this guy. I've fallen for them, they're absolutely stunning animals. Taiwan Beauty Rat Snake

Dino(Dee-no) the Tegu

Titan the Green Iguana, he was showin' off for everyone.

Komodo the Asian Water Monitor (Second largest lizard species)

And the big girl, Sumatra, she's the "grand finale" . 4 year old Albino Burmese Python, I think she's somewhere around 125lbs and 14ft long.

She decided to come say hi to me while I was taking pictures.

Cel you are quite the Reptile photographer, those are fanstastic. I too love reptiles, I have a soft spot for Geckos, they are really neat animals. I would have had a snake around my neck, the Albino Python is sweet!! I have never seen a Komondo on a harness, they can pack a powerful bite. That one must be used to being handled, what a fun event. Thanks for posting, I enjoyed every picture!

Thank you! It was a lot of fun, all the animals had something really stunning about them. It's amazing the qualities they adapted for their habitats.

And I was tempted to ask if next time I could have his Carpet Python (stayed home) around my neck while I shoot. :P

Komodo's just her name :) I believe Komodos are illegal here, since they're venomous as well as endangered. But yeah, all of the animals are used to it as they go to the events on a regular basis. I believe he had 5 just this month.

I don't mind reptiles at all. In fact, I'm a fan as many of them eat (dreaded) rodents. I was concerned that there might be a rodent in one of the photos as "food". Thankfully, there was not.

There were a lot of good "tongue shots"! :P

I didn't realize Komondos were venomous, I knew they could bite hard and that tail can get whipping. How old is the Albino Python, she isn't a young one.

Never thought of liking them for that reason. :D Actually, people in Taiwan often bring Taiwan Beauty Rat Snakes into their house just to eat the rats. So they're quite used to people, don't see that happening in too many cultures.

Cel, these are some beautiful pictures and I thoroughly enjoyed them, and they are truly a beautiful and photogenic species, I am one of those who prefer to merely see the pictures. I am not comfortable being around them; even the harmless ones but I do stand amazed at the beauty and color and unusual varieties that you have captured so well. Thank you for posting these. I am like repiles as Deb is with rodents. LOL

Great pics, Cel! I really like the Gecko, and the Uromastyx is a cute little guy.

I have held an Albino Burmese Python before, she was big, but I don't believe she was as large as Sumatra.
I'll see if I can find the pic, if you don't mind me posting it here.
