I am New to Daily Puppy

Postby twinklintwilite on Sun Apr 01, 2012 2:26 pm

Hi...I am new to Daily Puppy...I think I made my first mistake...For my avatar I put my pet poodle (Cookie) but she is not a puppy..She was 7 years old a couple of days ago...Was I not supposed to put a full grown dog as my avatar? I have pics of when she had her puppies...I can change my avatar to one of them if what I did was not correct...Please let me know...Besides that- my husband and I have 2 poodles-11 yr minature apricot poodle named Boobers and Cookie my white toy 7 yrs. old....Cookie is mine and Boobers is my husbands...I love all dogs...I wish sometimes I had the land and the money to take all the abused, strays and pound puppies to live with me..But sadly :( I can't...I can't wait to start sharing pics and getting involved....thank you for the opportunity...Have a great puppy day!!!

Hi again to you and your doggies. The D P people love to see lots of photos of your babies and will help answer any questions you may have relating to your little ones.
There are some very knowledgeable people on this site only too happy to listen TO YOU.
They have helped me with some little problems i have had with my new little rescue 10 year old Badger, and it is wonderful to read up daily to hear how other peoples dogs are getting on .
I myself feel i know some of the people quite well ,even though we have only met on D P.

Welcome to the Daily Puppy from Oliver & Henry, and their Mum, in London, Ontario, Canada!

We would love to see pictures of both of your dogs, regardless of their age. If you wish to show puppy pictures from four years ago, that's fine too.

Your profile indicates that you have "No Puppies", and has a blank Bio. Perhaps that is because of your misconception that we mean literally mean "Puppy" when, as Emma indicated, all dogs are considered to be our puppies.

Approximately where are you located?

Oliver and Henry are adorable! I have no puppies now...as soon as they were weaned (all 6 of them) we gave them to family members...Included in those 6 were a set of twins...a boy and a girl, they were both attached to the same cord...My husband's favorite aunt took both of them...They come and visit their mom and dad but mama (cookie) and her daughter (amber) do not get along...Isn't that funny when they don't know they're related...The other 4 puppies went to cousins and in-laws...so they all got good homes and then Cookie got fixed....We are located in Oregon where its green-only because it has yet to quit raining....lol....Good to chat at you..Cookie waves a paw...:)

Hello twinklintwilite!
I also thought the DP was for puppies only when I first joined...but all are welcome, no matter what the age.

I would love to see more pics of your sweet Cookie. In you profile, you have the option of creating photo albums for your dogs. You may create one for all your pics, or create an album for each dog, as I've done with mine.

Welcome to the DP from RJM, Ruby, Kessler and Gizzie in Michigan

BTW, I absolutely love the Pacific Northwest area!

Welcome, of course this isn't just for "puppies"! Most of our dogs are grown up, see our own avatars. Use Photobucket to post pictures, it's free and easy to use.

Do create a album on your profile, it's fun to do.

Dogs or puppies have no concept of being related. Anyway I love Oregon, have been there many times. What do you do in Oregon? I have a hobby farm which takes much of my time and I professionally train. Welcome!

As both RJM and Kian, and I thought myself, had explained, the indication on your profile that says "No Puppies" actually means you have NO dogs at all! According to what you've written here, that is not the case.

Sometimes it is helpful to read other people's Bio's to get a feel for the site. I was a "lurker" long before I joined. I started with the Front Page and only discovered the Forum after months of just reading the Front Page.

RJM (RubyJeansMom) gave you some wonderful advice about posting photos and creating albums. As Kian mentioned, most of our avatars are of "Grown Up Puppies". There is a feature on the Front Page daily that includes a "Grown Up Puppy of the Day".

We would love to see any pictures of both of the dogs you have now, especially ones of them together.

Hello Twinklintwilite!

Welcome to the DailyPuppy!!!
I hope you find the the people, information given, and adorable puppies On this site are very beneficial; as I do. However, I fit in the same boat with you, my avatar is a pic of my boy yoshi as a puppy, but he is actually 1 year old at the moment. So, it's completely fine.

Also, I find it very heart warming to find someone with the same wish of housing and caring for all the unfortunate dogs in the world. I agree the land and money deficiency is a bummer.
Cookie is so Adorable and I bet she is SUPER FLUFFY!!! Although, I love the fluff, the shedding can be hectic But, I'm pretty sure you have no problems with Cookie and I would LOVE to see more pics of both Cookie and Boobers. Also, Oregon is a Lovely place and I have visited Oregon many times. Lets say it's my gateway to Canada and to Victoria.

Again, welcome to the Dailypuppy from Bandit & Yoshi in California! NOTE: It feels great to finally know someone that lives in the westcoast .
