♥ HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY, REMI ♥

I see a Monster Butt in that last picture...LOL!!

Ashley, It was both Ruby AND Kessler who tangled with a muskrat. It was in the middle of the night, I had let the dogs out and it was probably just passing through our yard. Of course they had to go after it, they both have such a high prey drive...they ended up killing it, but not witout receiving a few battle scars themselves. Kessler needed stitches in his face and neck, Ruby had a few puncture wounds on her neck and legs, but nothing that needed stitching. And would they do it again if they hade the chance? Of course they would!

Good eye on the Monster butt, RJM!

Ashley, RJM often remarks that I notice the obscure things in photos, and this time she beat me to it! :P

Muskrats can be quite vicious, and I remember when Ruby and Kessler decided to "protect" what is theirs. I'm so glad neither Remi or Monster had a chance to tangle with the one in your fence.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY REMI!! ♥♥♥

I saw the "Monster" butt! There was the cutest pug I wanted so bad last week, she is a puppy mill rescue and requires a at home parent, no pug for me. I fell in love with her and her sweet smile.

Muskrats, they can be mean! A dead one is much better, do you have to worry about skunks there?

Deb, I should have mentioned that I some times have them off leash in the front yard and they never run off. When they are off leash and not in the fence they tend to stay close to me and I also stay on full alert.
However, I thought about it and just started bringing them out on a leash instead. They freak out a little when they see me grab the leashes and think they're going on a walk so I figured they would get used to me getting the leashes and find out that they don't always do something fun when I grab them.
Now the thing is on the times when I don't stay out back with them they don't have a way of telling me when they want to come in. Remi would usually bark at the door but now she can't get to it. :?

Kian, yes we have skunks around here. I've never since one-alive that is-but I have sure smelled them quite a bit. I remember once when the skunk smell filled the house and Remi went crazy growling and barking at the window.

I've been seeing quite a few pugs around here lately.
I recently met someone on my walk and she had a little pug puppy! She was the size of Remis head, too bad I didn't have Monster with me that would have been a cute site! Remi was very good with her although she got a tad to hyper here and there when the puppy tried to play.

I forgot to mention before, someone stole my business sign! I'm so angry, I really liked that sign. It also cost quite a bit because of the size and the fact that it was in color. We were going to put it on the house and change it up a bit this spring too. However, I'm now in the process of making a new sign myself. It's going to be cheap and simple which is how I should of had it in the first place but my mother told me that I should get it professionally made so it would look good.

Ashley, at least the garage won't be under repair forever, but I know how frustrating it must be with the leashes as well as not knowing when they wish to come in. Our dogs do have their ways of letting us know, and it's hard for them as well not being able to ask in their normal manner.

Oliver gently taps on the door, but Henry just waits and will never bark or even knock on the door! If Oliver is "stuck" (as mine are on a very long line) he will give a quiet "woof", but Henry will just sit patiently figuring he is meant to be there, silly boy.

I am also glad that you decided to err on the side of caution when transferring the dogs. As you said, it serves two purposes, one of which is that they both learn the leash does not always mean a walk. You would never forgive yourself if something happened, God forbid.

I bet that little Pug puppy was adorable! That would be wonderful to see Monster, with a "mini Monster".

Who would steal your sign? What purpose does it serve to anyone else? That is out and out vandalism, and I'm sorry that happened to you. Your Mum was right about it looking more professional but I'm sure it did cost quite a bit. Have you thought about making a claim on your Homeowner's Insurance, or is the deductible cost prohibitive? It might not even be covered if considered a "business sign". Something good always comes of something bad, so just wait and see what goodness awaits. :D

Deb, my guess would be some kids stole it because they thought it was cute. Someone threw the thought out that it must have be a competitor.

A couple weeks ago we got Remis nails clipped at the vet and she had to be sedated for it. She really needed them done so the vet thought that instead of trying to clip them with her awake and giving her another bad experience that we just skip to sedating (which we were going to do if she didn't fair well with getting them trimmed).
Anyways we were very busy that day getting the garage and sidewalk ready for cement (so far it's been 3 weeks since we started redoing the garage but we still have to wait another week for the cement. :( It's worth it though as we're saving a lot of money.) that it was really nice that she was sleepy the rest of the day.
Image
I took advantage of her stillness and got some good nose pictures. I just wish she didn't have a runny nose.

This is a rare site. Ziggy was there first. However this just so happens to be where Remi eats her meals and it just so happened to be meal time...It took Remi about 20 minutes to go to her meal spot (which is on the bed) because she wasn't sure if she could lay nest to Ziggy. It was pretty funny, for awhile she was running around frantic not knowing where she was going to eat!
Image

Today I was trying to get good pictures of Remi as I haven't been taking much lately but all she wanted to do was eat grass.

Now for everyones favorite pug.

Ashely, as always, the photos were greatly enjoyed and appreciated!!! Elliot isn't home this evening, but I'll be sure to show him the new Monster shots when he returns. :D I did love the one of him laying in the grass with a the tip of his tongue showing. ♥

Sweet Remi really is a darling. Not unlike sleepy children, sleepy puppies/dogs are also enjoyable. Poor Remi though, not knowing where she was going to eat. I'm glad she stood her ground, ultimately and went to HER bed to enjoy HER meal. The nerve of Ziggy!  8)

Your killing me you know! I love Monsters and Remis pictures, between you, Elliot and that cute rescue pug and one I worked with, I want one now. While Deb may have a Golden in her future, I foresee a Pug in mine and that breed had never been on my radar before. Help me if I come across a Pug puppy!

There was a Pug in the Rally O Competition last week, he did very, very well!! Owned and showed by a 4H girl, she had trained him quite well, wish I had got a video. I think she got a ribbon in her division, it was near flawless.

I can believe some kid stole your sign, they have no conscience, it sickens me. I know a store owner who bought some balloons for her storefront here in town. She caught teens taking them and when she confronted them, they did NOT see anything wrong with it. Ugh................

Kian, just their looks alone could make anyone want a pug but it's their personality that puts them over the top!

We finally got the garage and sidewalk done! It only took a little over a month of waiting with no garage or sidewalk. However we saved more than half the money we would have spent if we just did it right away.
We also placed a doggy door in the back door of the garage. Remi goes through it like a pro. Monster seems to want to try but he also got smacked in the face with the flap and now refuses to go through it, even when I hold the flap up. I believe, however he'll come around.

It's been awhile...
Last night was the first night we left Remi out of her crate to sleep. I trusted her way before but she always went to it when I got ready for bed so it was just routine. She did excellent just as I thought however she did have a brief confused moment on what was going on.

I get this face looking up at me A LOT. By the way there's a worm on his back..

Remi's new potential friend. The first time they played he was a bit too much so I decided next time to just walk them together and they played a little too and Remi had more fun that time.

Ashley, I've been away and how lovely to come back and find these beautiful new photos! Remi and her friend look just lovely together..."Twin Tongues"! :P

Did you put that worm on Monster's back? That is perhaps the longest worm I've ever seen. He is such a cutie and both of my sons enjoyed a walk down "Monster Lane". :D

Ashley, Remi's photo shoot pics are so cute. She looks beautiful in her sombrero.

Silly Monster, with the worm on his back, and he doesn't even care.
I have to say that picture made my stomach lurch and I had to scroll down quickly, with my worm phobia. Ewww...
