What is he?

I picked Bentley up from a local shelter. They thought he was an Australian Cattle Dog mix. He had 3 brothers there who were all black and looked like Border Collies. He was the only tan one. What mix do you think he is?

While he is very cute, I can't see any Australian Cattle Dog in him, but it's too hard to tell at this young age. I am more inclined to think he may be a Lab Mix of some sort. That would be in keeping with his brothers being black. He may very well be a Lab/Collie cross.

Thanks for your input. I was kinda hoping he was going to turn out to be a cattle dog but if not oh well. Hes my little man now. I was thinking the cattle dog because hes getting some white and red spots on his legs and feet but we'll see. Hes a ball of fun though

I owned and bred Cattle Dogs aka ACD's and he is not. While there maybe some mix of some in there, it's still too early to tell. I too see lots of Lab in there, give him 6 months and see how he changes, he is a several mixes. Like you said, he is a cutie.

Many shelters have no idea, it's a guess on thier part and usually a quick guess.
