It was fun. I'm amazed at how much my son Elliot has grown in the past 10 months, as has Madeline, Angie's beautiful daughter.

We would all like to have another "DP Tour", and some of us have talked about taking it "across the Pond" to England in 2013. That would be amazing!!! The Niagara Trip started off as two people, Kian and Linda, talking about travelling to Niagara Falls. I live only 3 hours from there, and said if they were going to be there, I would drive there (even for a day) just to meet them both. It snowballed from there and before we knew it, the dates had been selected, hotel rooms had been booked, and it was the day before we were due to hit the road. It was very exciting.

Prior to that, Linda and Kian had travelled to Europe and Tracy (Deerie Me) had met up with them over there. Since then, Linda has met Brenda, and so on. A lot of us have met vicariously through others.

Hi! I'm new to DP, and this was one of the suggested topics after posting an introduction about my family.

First, here's a brief autobiography about us!
I'm Kathryn, and I'm currently going to graduate school for a Master's degree in secondary education. I am hoping to teach Chinese and Japanese as a foreign language in the Pacific Northwest area. My hobbies include most outdoor activities (hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, camping), winter sports (snowshoe, ski and snowboard), photography, cooking/baking, and hanging out with the family. My boyfriend Max and I are all about animals and nerdy things.

My first memorable experience with dogs was passing by them on dog-friendly hikes. They were so loyal and friendly--I instantly fell in love! A hiking companion is exactly what our family needed! After much searching and heartbreak, we were finally able to adopt Douglas this month. Our resident kitty (Mimi) is still getting used to him, but they are starting to get along just fine. My goal is to eventually have everyone together for a peaceful family portrait.

You & Max are a very cute couple and fun to! A Masters degree is quite a accomplishment, congrats!! Did you grow up speaking Japanese & Chinese? Both wonderful languages to teach! I love the Pacific northwest, such a pretty part of the country. The fun thing about this site is it is worldwide, we have members all over the planet, it's fun. We do have a photography thread as well, feel free to post some pictures there anytime.

Kathryn, you and Max look like a fun, silly, wonderful couple! I applaud all things "nerdy" and have tried to raise my own sons to embrace such endeavours. It sounds like you have a lot of interests, and after seeing your new puppy, Douglas, I'm sure he will be a perfect fit for you both.

Kudos to you on your studies! There is a brain behind all that beauty.

Did you grow up speaking Japanese & Chinese?

I grew up speaking Mandarin Chinese, but started to pick up Japanese in 8th grade. Completing my student teaching has been hard work, but very rewarding!

Hey Kathryn,
You and Max look like a very fun and lovely couple. Not to mention a CUTE COUPLE! Yall obviously, have many things in common and Knowing your into nerdy things, I was just wondering, have you ever been to comic con?

Also, I'm curious of what college your attending because I been to many colleges and Out reach programs,I just want to know your experience.

I too, have most outdoor hobbies like camping and such, especially snowboarding. If you ever been to Lake Tahoe the slopes are AMAZING!! and if not i hope you go their soon. Also, if you have any curiousity of what i look like. Just go back one page on this thread and you will see what i look like.

Its really nice to see Duggie on the POTD I bet it was very exciting! For i was excited too when my pup was!
