Marking down now "4/20/12....Deb is speechless!" As it should be because those pictures speak for themselves! I have the 300mm lens, I do like it a lot. I mostly use the Aperture settings, I am venturing out into full manual mode.

Do you print up any of these? I print a few of mine, sometimes it's hard to choose.

I'm glad you're all enjoying the photos. :) I plan to post many more!

Ashley, we get that quite a lot. A few weeks ago, I was walking Star back home through town after a canal walk and someone stopped me to take her picture "because she's already smiling for the camera"!

Kian, I should print a few photos, but as far as I get is putting them in a folder called "To Print". I have a small picture of Tippi, Star and Kay in my wallet in front of a photo of Jack, but that's as close to 'framed' as any of my photos have ever gotten.

Tia wasn't moping as much this morning, so she came up the field with us and did a little light running.

We went for walk with our friend who owns the two Staffordshire Bull Terriers that we often look after this afternoon. Even with the rain and hail, it was extremely fun. 8) I got to practice with the new lens, as well.

Emma, those photos are amazing, as always! Wow, your dogs, and any dog that find itself in your care, certainly enjoys the "Good Life". Kay is quite comical, as are the terriers.

You captured some fantastic action shots. It looks like fun was had by all.

Thanks, Deb. :) I've recently made it my mission to capture 'the best' Splash photo this summer. I love watching dogs swim, run and play in water, so why not?... It gives me an excuse to encourage the dogs to get filthy.

I took Kayenne to the sports ground to practice on the obstacle course this morning. We do it quite a lot, but it's more of a training thing for her, so the camera usually stays at home, or else I'm too hung up on getting pictures to actually train with her. Because it was too wet to do the narrow-walks and crawls, we just had a half-hearted, laid-back practice run for an hour.

THE RESULTS:

The start of the walk.
Image
Serious face, serious face...
Image
It rained the entire time we were out, and when we went home, the sun came out.
Image
That puddle was huge. She was so shocked by it that she couldn't find the ball.
Image
She found it, eventually.
Image
And this is how she came back. Covered in grass, and very surprised.
Image
Splash. Little splash.
Image
Sitting like a good girl, waiting for the "Over" to be given for the smallest 'jump'.
Image
Success.
Image
Medium jump.
Image
Large jump.
Image
Just because.
Image

And, once the walk was over, Kayenne was not impressed.

Awwww! Kay looks beautiful always. I did enjoy seeing her jump, and was impressed by her small, and medium jumps. I was highly amused at her large jump as she had the right idea. Why go over when she could go under?! Clever girl!

She has such a pretty face...so expressive. :D

You are amassing a large collection of exquisite photos. For your sake, I hope you have them all backed up on a disk or external device...just in case. It's food for thought, and I know I'm being a "Mum', so I'll stop. 8)

She's usually alright with the higher 'jump', but she has slipped on that one a few times, so she's understandably cautious when it's raining.

At the end of the year, I sort out all of my photos, and then put them on blank CD's and delete them from my computer. I currently have 16 full 'photo discs' in a box in the loft/attic. The discs themselves don't have that much space, only about 700MB I think, so I got around 500 photos on each disc, but the photos taken with the Nikon take up a lot more space than the pics from my other cameras.

I think I'll have to invest in some more-capable blank discs this year.

I took Star out for a walk today. There was hail when I first stepped out the door, but five minutes down the road and the sun started shining. Apparently we're in draught, but yesterday alone, we had a months' worth of rain. The weather was a bit of a surprise, but a nice one.

These photos are all pretty much the same; just Star enjoying herself. :)

Star is the perfect name for that darling, little sweetheart! You are taking such amazing action shots! Star looks so happy. :D

Have you thought about saving your photos to a USB key? My son Ben was talking about that the other day. I may have misunderstood, but I'll double check with him. I had mentioned saving my photos onto some more disks, and he said something about using something else. As I am not always accurate with the terminology, it may have been a USB key or something else. I'll double check for you, as he said whatever it was lasts longer and holds more.

Gosh! Star is such a cute little thing! Awesome pictures, I love the ones where she's almost doing a handstand. She's in awesome shape too! I'm always happy to see a fit dog, too many overweight dogs out there right now.

I haven't done an awful lot with the camera lately, but we went up to a local wood, Kings' Wood, today with the three Jacks. Someone lost their Border Terrier over there last week sometime, so we figured we'd head that way, instead of to our other walking destination. We've never been to Kings' Wood before. It's a beautiful place. No sign of the Border Terrier sadly, but we have found a great place to take the dogs.

We left the Dobes at home, because we weren't sure what kind of obstacles we'd come across. But, we went up the field as soon as we got back from Kings' Wood (and Tiffany had been cleaned.)

I loved the photo of the 3 Jacks running their across the open field. The expressions on their faces is priceless. :D

Thanks for identifying them all at the end to assist us older folks in remember who's who!

As usual, terrific photos!

There's a lot of similar looking faces to remember. Our neighbour of four years doesn't even know their names. Don't worry about forgetting which one's which.

I took my three doogles up the field this afternoon to get a nice group photo of them, and learned that Star + Kay + Tippi = disaster. Star and Kay look great together. Adding Tippi to the mix makes for one forced-looking photo. I can't be sure, but I think that's her way of making sure she's the center of attention all the time...

Thanks Vanessa. "A tired dog is a happy dog."

I'm not sure if I've ever actually mentioned it before, but our dogs don't get the usual "walks" most dogs do. Because we've got the field, that's where they get their exercised. Their walks consist of training, and usually we stay close to the house and work on lead. Occasionally, we take all the dogs to one of three places: Stockgrove Country Park, Rushmere (off of Stockgrove) and Sandhouse Lane. Stockgrove is a more populated area, you can avoid people in Rushmere, and Sandhouse Lane is a really quiet place where we usually go with our friend and her two dogs.

My sister, mum and I took Kay, Tiffany and the camera to Rushmere this afternoon. It was great. I was extremely proud. We passed by a Labrador with minimum effort, and Kay thought that a brown-coloured Pointer was Tia. I always love it when I can actually see the training working.

We stayed at the Dog Splash (previously known as "The Muddy Puddle Where People Take Their Dogs") for about 40 minutes. Kay loves water, and I 'splashed' out on a water toy for her a few months ago. Haven't used it much, but she loves it. Tiffany is alright when she can touch the floor, but she doesn't like swimming...Fair enough. She'll swim on mass. If there are lots of dogs swimming, she'll go in. But mostly, she sticks to the edges.

I didn't take my zoom lens, because I knew I'd just be handing the camera off to mum for the most part. Here are some of the snapshots.
