This Hike was brutal with the incline and so many roots they almost acted as natural steps

Beautiful pictures! I love Hawaii, which Island is this? That climb would kill me at my age now, those roots are killer.
That last picture of your hubby is very nice, love the sea in the background.

That view is so worth the hike!

Its on Oahu :D This hike was in Hawaii-Kai about id say 20 mins from Waikiki. And yes those roots were brutal!!! Most of the hikes along the trail are tons of roots which are sometimes helpful but others not so much. Very easy to trip over. The view like every other hike we went on was worth the work. Thats what would keep us or me going lol knowing that the view would be once in a lifetime :D

I thought it was Oahu, it's beautiful.

Kris I love your Catalina pictures, very nice. It's been a long time since I was there, I would love to climb those stairs.

Kris I just love those flowers, the Hibiscus is one of my all time favorite flowers. We had them in California, my mom loved them. I still love that most unsual one, it almost looks like paper or a silk flower, it's very cool. Hope someone knows what it is. The one I'm talking about is the 3rd one, yellow with orange center.

A Jay made a surprise appearance and visited the neighbours birdfeeder. I've never changed my lenses so quickly before.

Sorry for the double-post.

This isn't exactly photography (at all) but I don't want to start a whole new thread just yet.

A few days ago, I discovered Bob Ross, a painter, when I was up late/early. He teaches you how to paint, while painting an original picture. I just loved everything about it, so I went out and picked up some supplies today. This is my first ever painting. I did it along with Bob Ross, but, apart from the mountain and lake idea (positioning is different), I didn't copy his painting. I just listened, placed the trees and bushes and banks where I wanted, and voila.

Hey guys

I've missed posting in this thread and seeing everyone's pictures!
Emma- I love stuff like that on the internet. There's a guy I found on youtube who draws Manga so that you can copy it and I was able to draw a little angry chibi man straight away! That's a little easier than painting though, yours is great! You should use your new found talent to paint some Christmas cards for your family :D Also the moon pictures are awesome, you managed to get a lot of detail, did you use a tripod or something? Or do you just have the steadiest hands in the world? :P

Kris- those flower pictures are gorgeous and so vibrant. They make me feel warmer though it's FREEZING here!

I wanted to share a picture and tell you guys something. My best friend and I have decided to TRY set up a small photography business on the side (we're not naive :P). I'm going to get myself a bank account and then we're hoping to start out maybe by joining gundog owners on shoots and at training and by taking photos at local vets and for friends. We want to, if we can, eventually branch out to things like weddings etc but we'll see
Anyway here's just a taster of a joint effort photo of her dog, Milo
Image

I won't go on about it anymore but if any of you guys want to check out more stuff we have a facebook page (littlelimephotographic) and a deviantart though that doesn't have much stuff on it. I promise I'm not just here to advertise and I will be back soon  let's just say I have a few family things going on that are taking up most of my attention, but I shall neglect you (leave you in peace) no longer

This thread really isn't as popular as it was :o

I hope you guys don't mind me making myself a thread? I'd like everyone's (very valued) opinions on some things. I thought it would be good if I can't decide between two different edits of the same picture etc to get an idea of which was generally preferred.

I guess this time of year isn't the best for pictures unless it's snowed :/ I must say I'm struggling because it rains so much, any slight bit of sunshine and we practically leap out the door with the dogs and our cameras

Anyone have snow? I wish we'd have some over Christmas
