That was interesting and they don't sound harmful. Just a few in our state it looks like, but I will keep a eye out.

i was trying to get him to swim next to me for a picture. He loved the water so much...we couldn't keep him out of it!

and finally...people leave a slip of carpet on the bank of the lake so it's easy to walk in and out of the water without slipping...well, Waffles found one that he just HAD to play with...
Image
normally, i don't think he could have picked it up because it's usually submerged...but the water has been a little low this year, due to the lack of rain...

We all had a GREAT time!

Nezza that is a great trip! I love the lake, the campsite and of course the jet ski!! Cristofer is darling, looks like a very sweet boy. Is the shoreline clay, is that why it is slippery? Carpet is smart, leave it to Waffles to find one!

Does it cool down at night there?

I want the boat next to Waffles! I will take the raft, what a great time.

Thanks, Kian.

The shore line is clay-like...and gets pretty slippery when wet. All around the lake, are little strips of carpet, which is great on the feet when entering the water :D

It does cool down at night. It was around the 90's during the day and at night was in the low 60's with a breeze! Perfect for a light blanket.

The jet ski is A LOT of fun! I like to go out on it and cruise the lake and look at all the beautiful lake houses...some of them are HUGE!! We also have a tube for tubing behind the jet ski and that is SO SO MUCH fun

Vanessa, it looks like you are all having a wonderful time!

The lake clay can be fun as one can make things out of it, if it's the right kind. However, slippery it can certainly be and one may wish to wade in the water, not slip in the water. :D

Awww, Cristofer is a little cutie, he looks so sweet.

I love the last few pictures of Waffles. Was he rolling on the shore or "killing" the carpet?
Perfect weather for a lake vacation too...90 can be so hot when there's no water around to lounge in.

What great photos Vanessa!!! It looks like you had a lovely time. What a pretty area! There seems to be a "hot sauce" theme, and I did notice the tear on your OH's cheek. That sauce must have been wicked hot.

That looks like a great place to take a youngster as there is so much to see and do. Cristofer looks so much like his Dad, it's amazing. 8)

I'm glad you had such a lovely time. The measure of a great vacation is when we feel it's over just a bit too soon.

Thank you, Deb! What true words :D The hot sauce incident...we were in a hot sauce store...all the sauces are made locally and they are ridiculously HOT!!!

We had a beautiful time! Cristofer looks very much like his daddy...OH says he looked just like Cristofer when he was his age :D

I really enjoyed the video!!! Did Daddy help Cristofer at all with that, or did he do it all on his own? I was very impressed. I particularly laughed at the part where he made it look like you were riding the horse! The credits were great as well!

I also thought the song choice was perfect. What a sweet child Cristofer is! I was also amused that he called it something like the "Daddy Crying Video". Children are so funny sometimes with what they find amusing. I also noticed what Cristofer had on his shirt about homework being work and how much is his pay. 8)

The Cabins look quite comfortable, especially with a/c!!!! I noticed that before but forgot to mention it. What a great idea for a family vacay without having to buy all the camping gear.

Is Cristofer still will you? How long is his stay? I'm sure he enjoys being with his Father, and you very much. Your OH looks so happy to be with you both. ♥

Thank you, Deb, i'm glad you found the video to be amusing :D i did too!

The OH showed him how to work the video program and then Cristofer did everything else himself...the special effects and the titles, credits, coloring and the order. I picked the song and OH dropped the song into the video. Cristofer is a very smart little boy!

Neither me or the OH saw the video until Cristofer was done piecing it together...and we all got a kick out of the picture of me on the horse

The cabins are a great way to "camp" without having to "tent camp" and this is one of our favorite places to go. It's actually a large RV park that has 4 cabins like the one we stayed in and 4 larger cabins that have a kitchens and separate bathrooms...these sleep up to 6.

Cristofer is still with us for another few weeks :D We are all having a lot of fun this summer!

Vanessa, I loved seeing all the pictures from your Gatlinburg vacay, it looks and sounds like you had a wonderful time.
Cristofer did a great job on the video, and the song was a perfect choice.

Your poor OH, that sauce must have been really HOT, to bring a tear to his eye. :o
There's a hot sauce store in Key West that we always go to when we're there, some of those sauces are stupidly hot!

Thank you, RJM.

Yes, that hot horseradish sauce was stupidly hot. I don't think anyone could use it for anything...it's purely for effect, i'm sure. It's so hot that they keep it locked in a glass case in front of the store  He HAD to try it though....I'm the hot sauce freak and even i wouldn't try it...and i already knew what would happen. However, they NEVER listen  So, he put the tiny sample in his mouth and the pain was instantaneous! His face got red, he started chocking, gagging, eyes started tearing...he actually RAN out of the store to spit it out in the garbage.People were stopping to ask me if he was okay....What a sight  It was quite amusing to me and little Cristofer...not so much to OH
