Hello world, my name is Samar!

I am an undergraduate student studying to be a vet, I just started college this year at University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign (Goooo Illinis!). I have always loved dogs but unfortunately I don't have a one, HOWEVER I do have 3 chickens. Its totally not the same thing, but you gotta work with what you got, and I love them to bits anyway

In fact I love all animals: horses (I recently worked at a horse farm), cats, dogs, snakes, Madagascar hissing cockroaches (I have a picture of one but will refrain from uploading it, I love them but they are....hard on the eyes.)

I was looking at the other intros, and everyone has pics of their dogs in them. I don't want to be left out so I guess I will put a picture of my chickens....I'm probably the first person here with a picture of their chickens up

Anyway, I've always liked the Daily Puppy, but mostly just for the pictures, but I'm excited to participate in the forum! I'm looking forward to seeing your guys's dogs and sharing whatever knowledge I gain through my animal science studies!

Hi Samar,yes DP is a great site,love your chickens.Igrew up on a farm ,where we had lots of animals.
I had three special Bantam chickens,called Sebastin,Nicholas and Thomasina.

One of my chickens is also a bantam! She is a silkie bantam, she is the white fluffball chicken in the picture.

Those are such sweet names for chickens (I'm guessing Thomasina was thought to be a boy? )

Welcome aboard, Samar! You don't have to have a dog to be part of the DP. As long as you've got a love for 'em, you'll fit in great...

We've got a fair few chickens, as well. We used to have some Silkie Bantams. They were the only chickens we've ever had to bathe...

Emma & Kay, we also give our silkie a bath every couple months, she is so sweet about it, hardly complains and then she poofs up like never before when she is dry. Its really quite fun to watch!

Oliver & Henry's Mum, thanks! Yes, its no doubt going to be interesting, the schedule is packed with all kinds of interesting things. In fact next week we get to see the inside of a cow's stomach during lab. The cow is still alive, but fistulated which means she has this bottle cap looking thing on her and which when opened allows you to observe the digestive system

Thanks! That dog is my friend's neighbor's poodle he is a real lover, as you can tell!

I'm glad you like my posts, I'm not in Vet school yet though, I am a pre-vet student, not a vet-student. Pre-veterinary studies is the undergraduate program in animal science that you take to go to vet school, when you are in vet school then you are called a vet-student.

I saw your dogs, you have some gorgeous hounds there!
