Thanks for the clarification, Deborah and Tracy!
My real name is Samar (pronounced Sah-mer kinda like the season) its probably a lot easier to call me by my first name, rather than saying Tweedledee all the time
Ooooo Chocolate lab puppy to babysit?? You are so lucky!
Hmmm...something miscellaneous that happened to me recently...
Well, I just had my first lab in my Animal Science class, (I'm a pre-vet student) and it was really awesome! We got the feel the inside of a very mellow cow's stomach. The idea was to get a good first hand experience with the digestive tract of ruminants (cows are ruminants, which are basically a class of animals who have 4-compartment stomach which has the capacity to digest cellulose from plants....I think another member, RubyJeanMom, has goats those are also ruminants

!)
Anyway we went up to this really sweet old dairy cow who was fistulated, meaning that she had a little hole with a bottle cap on her side, through which you could put your arm to feel the four compartments of her stomach.
I snapped a picture of her, she was the sweetest old girl! I think her name was Stardust, thats what her tag said.
Don't worry, it doesn't hurt her to feel her stomach, there are no nerve endings down there. Also fistulated cows are less at risk of getting bloat (deadly gas buildup in stomachs) and they live longer than regular cows.
Next week we get to observe suckling behavior in piglets, which is really a fancy way of saying we are going to a swine farm to play with baby pigs! SOOOO EXCITED!!
