I only had one question about american eskimos xD Mine seems to have pretty bad tear-staining, so I was wondering if I should clean under his eyes, use that angel food powder stuff, or leave it alone? I don't see many eskimos with the tear-stains so it kind of has me worried xD and here's Cloud

Check with your vet first to make sure the tear duct is working properly. Angel Eyes is a liquid that some groomers use.

Ah okay, will do! I'm actually in the process of finding a vet right now, my current one is horrible and its apparent he knows little to nothing about dogs Once I find one I'm comfortable enough with I will ^-^

Mine doesn't have this unless her allergies are acting up. Is yours a mini? I feel like I see it more with minis than with standards (mine is a standard). But, either way--check with a veterinarian.

He's 17 pounds so I believe he's considered standard. Not sure. He did come from a pet store as his profile says.. could just be bad backyard breeding :[

My eskie had bad tear stains when he was a puppy but as he grew up, they went away. Now I just try to keep the corners of his eye and below his eyelid clean -- I just wipe with a soft tissue or a damp washcloth. Just be very careful around that area. He's been tearing up in his left eye for a few days (probably allergies), so I keep tabs on it so the area doesn't stay wet long enough to let the bacteria set in, which is what causes the staining.

But if it's really an issue, I echo the suggestions to see a vet and maybe pick up the Angel Eyes or Eye Envy.
