Oh.My.Goodness!!!! "Georgia Pilgrim" is just beautiful! She is too cute. I hope you do win. I certainly think you deserve it. I can't wait to see her Christmas Photo. It is impossible to look at her sweet face and not totally melt, smile and even laugh a little.

Moreover, I am glad to hear she is starting to feel better. It takes a few days for the medication to kick in and start working, but if it helps, then it's worth it. Sometimes they don't know their own limitations once they start feeling better and they become too active and set themselves off again. Oliver was that way initially.

Last night, I actually had both Oliver and Henry playing "Toro" with a towel. At first Oliver wanted no part of this, and then he saw it could be fun, so as I would wave the towel hear him, he would try to bite the ends of it, his tail wagging madly the whole time. He was so happy, and Henry was excited to have Oliver in a playful mood. It is my hope that one day you are able to find exactly what works for Georgia so that she has more days like Oliver is enjoying now. It has taken 4 years to get to this point, and the first two were extremely difficult. I am eternally hopeful.

That photo has just absolutely made my day. I love Georgia! As for the two legged versus the four legged....I can safely say that the 4 legged ones are far more cooperative for far longer than the 2 legged variety.

Not only do I take a zillion photos of Georgia, but she also has a photographer she sees every year. This photographer works with a Santa and part of the money that they make go to help animal charities and families in need. She sent me a "sneak peek" of our photo session this past weekend. If this is just the sneak peek....I can't wait to see the other shots. I had to share. This picture is gorgeous :D

Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate in the U.S.

Happy and healthy snuggles to all Cavalier families :)

Kelly, you are killing me over here with the cuteness and sweetness!!!!!! I just melt when I see sweet Georgia, and that expression on her face, with that perfect Santa is glorious. :D

Georgia is an angel!!! I know why you love her so much, and how!!! I love my boys as much also, but I adore Georgia too. If that isn't an "award winning" photograph, then I don't know what is.

Thanks for sharing....you made my night. ♥

Hi All!

Hope everyone is doing well. Georgia is doing okay. No worse. Still quite a bit of head banging especially when she gets excited. She seems very, very happy and doesn't appear to be in any pain. She's calmed from the recent flare up. I'm always grateful. Hoping all of your lovely dogs with SM are doing well. Just saw on the Facebook group that a man in the UK's ruby passed at 7 or 8 years old. Makes me so sad. I always pray that I am doing what is right for Georgia. I know I haven't left a stone unturned but I guess I always second guess myself. Just wish she could tell me how she feels. Tonight she is snuggled up on the couch and snoring like a chain saw.

Both Georgia and Lola made the People Magazine Thanksgiving photos (together even though they were submitted separately...they must have known they were sisters ;) . Still no win but there is always the Christmas photo! hahaha

Hope all is well!

Kelly, I actually think putting Lola and Georgia together, with that caption is just adorable! It made me laugh. How lovely that one of "our" dogs (and cat) are famous!!! :D

I do hope Georgia continues to improve, and that her flare up seems to have settled. Oliver's birthday, (and Jack's) are fast approaching. Oliver will be 9 on the 22nd of this month. I can't even believe that. I am SO grateful. He is doing so well, and has been a cheeky monkey for the past several months.

Henry has been a downright mischief maker, but he doesn't have an excuse! 8)

Today is my older son's 21st Birthday! I am just astounded that my first born has attained the age of 21. I remember every minute of the day(s) surrounding his birth like they were yesterday. I remember so clearly holding him in the wee hours, after everyone had gone home, and marveling at this gorgeous little baby that was mine. I couldn't believe I had been so blessed, and I promised to try and protect him from all the hurts in the world. I clearly remember telling him that his 21st Birthday would be so special as we would have "made it"; through the teens, through bullies; through his first heartbreak; through toilet training....and here we are. Sadly, he is very, very busy with school right now and we can't celebrate until this week is over. As it is, he wrote two exams today.

I hope Georgia does well with her Christmas Photo. I can't imagine she won't. :)

Sushi it is tonight, as I can at least arrange for that on my son's birthday...off I could to let my fingers do the walking and my credit card do the talking!  (Love delivery!)

Happy Birthday to your son! I hope his day is wonderful and he has many more happy and healthy birthdays to come! I did get Georgia's other santa picture. It is adorable and on the Christmas card :) Unfortunately, the Santa QUIT the photographer's partnership. Georgia has had 4 beautiful Santa photos. The lovely thing is that the proceeds went to animal charities.

I'm so thrilled that Oliver will be 9 years old and he is feeling spunky. I try to avoid that facebook group b/c it does tend to be so sad. No matter what happens with Georgia, I will always be grateful that she is in my life. I do love spoiling her especially during the holidays :) Acupuncture tomorrow. I'm going to tell the vet that I can't afford the herbs any longer. It's just so expensive and I don't feel that they help her enough to continue with the cost.

Kelly, you know what's best. If you feel the herbs aren't helping, and they are costing a too much money, then by all means cease giving them to her. I do think the acupuncture does help Georgia from what you've said. :)

I love that second Santa photo! What a shame that "Santa" has stopped working with that photographer, as he truly is the best one I've ever seen...better than most who do human photos. I'm sure he is in "high demand", especially at this time of year, and perhaps was offered more money elsewhere.

Georgia looks so pretty, and just so sweet with her Christmas muffler/scarf. ♥

I noticed that with other sites that talked only about Cavaliers, I found it to be a bit too much when I first delved back into the internet and the world of dog woes. It is so heartbreaking when we lose a loved one, and I become attached to all of the dogs I "know". A mix of positive as well as realistic information helps keep a balance, in my opinion.

Thank you for the Birthday wishes for my son. He really hasn't had much of a birthday yet due to the 2 exams yesterday, a presentation, and another "case study" he had to produce today. At 12:30 he came to me, ready to throw himself down the stairs as he could not make a certain program work. He was running out of time, and if he couldn't find the fix, he would surely fail, his co-op placement would fall through and essentially all the work he's done over the past three semesters will have been for naught...just because of this one thing!

I put on my "Mummy Thinking Cap of Solve-ability" and told him I would obtain a ride to school for him, thereby giving him an additional hour, and to "throw everything he has at this". He left the room, and I prayed and prayed for him. Within 10 minutes he said he had found his error, and had fixed it. YAY!!!!! He may not receive an A on this particular project, but that's just fine. He did it, and he's going to pass, and everything is right with the world. It's no wonder I have so many grey hairs now.

Ben is so funny as he attributed his break through to Oliver. He said that Oliver was staring at him the whole time he was having his meltdown with me, and if Oliver can "overcome" with his "silly determination" then Ben felt he could too. We were a little giddy at this point, but Oliver was clearly relieved, and ironically had been listening for Ben as I had noticed him look, and tilt his head (more than normal) before Ben even came out of his room. Henry was uncomfortable as he knew one of his humans wasn't happy, so he had to be in my lap the entire time.

TMI? It was a big day around here.

Back to more important things....I hope Georgia feels especially groovy after her appointment tomorrow, and continues to do well moving forward. Let's hope the weather is kind to our babies this winter season.

Another day, another nasty ear infection. Georgia has both a yeast infection and a bacterial infection. Why have one type when you can have two??!! Ugh. My poor girl. Hopefully now the scratching and head banging will decrease. Sadly, I just had both of her ears shaved down on the inside and I cleaned them. Thought I was on top of things :(

Also, her weight gain is outrageous. Georgia has bloated up with the increase in gabapentin. We are trying to decrease it again to see if she can tolerate a lower dose. She is happily snoring and seems relieved after seeing the vet. I swear she knows they make her feel better. She is never afraid....almost giddy with joy when she sees the doctor. Funny thing, the vet tech lowered the exam table to have Georgia step off. She was sitting next to me on the floor when the vet walked in. Georgia hopped back on the table like she knew that was where she was supposed to be when he came in to see her.

I hope all is well with everyone else!

Georgia is so sweet! It is amazing how they seem to know who is there to help, and what they have to do. Poor darling having ear infections...that may well be why she's been head banging and uncomfortable. For goodness sake Kelly, don't beat yourself up over this. You are far more on top of things than most people.

With our "special" dogs, we are always on the look out for something and we don't always figure out what it is right away. I'm glad she'll be on medication now to help clear up her ears. I've been fortunate with Oliver when it comes to his ears, but not as much with Henry. He has very stinky ears sometimes, but I just clean them, and he's fine again.

There also isn't much you can do about the weight gain either. I've reduced Oliver's caloric intake as much as possible, and put him on a "light" food. He actually lost a pound, a whole pound, since last year. :D At least we're going in the right direction. He is still way too tubby though.

Hugs to you and Georgia, and Lola too! 8)

Just a quick note to wish all of you a happy and healthy holiday season! Thanks to all of you for your support, advice, and tolerance of my photo sharing ;) Georgia is over the ear infection and now battling and eye infection. My poor girl keeps me on my toes. I am the mother of two furry babies. I'm posting Lola's Christmas picture. I'd post them together but I'm just not quick enough!

Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2013!

Kelly, that is just beautiful! Lola is gorgeous, and the photograph itself is just lovely. Please keep posting your photos. We all enjoy them, so the more, the better. I seem to never update my photos and I should, but Oliver and Henry are usually just in various sleeping poses when I take their pictures.

Merry Christmas to you, and yours Kelly! 2012 has been an eventful year for a lot of us. I wish you all good things, especially our sweet Georgia, and that she has a healthy and happy New Year, as well as your other family members.

I just realized, since I'm up late on a Friday night, that it is now officially Oliver's 9th Birthday! :D

He was born on December 22nd, 2003 and we are so blessed to still have him with us, happy, and healthy (relatively) and loving life more than ever. There was a time when I didn't think he would make it to 8, so this is gravy. It is an incredible journey that we've walked and are still walking, and I wouldn't trade one second of it for anything. Cavaliers are the embodiment of love.

I am so grateful to all of the wonderful friends I've met and made because of this site, and this thread in particular. I can't believe it has been 4 years! That's a long time for anything on the internet. 8) I've met, physically and otherwise, some of the most wonderful people and we all share a common bond. It's a simple, uncomplicated thing in this crazy world.

When I see photographs of our friends, whom we would otherwise not be able to see, it just makes it so much better and more personal. I love Georgia's tuft, and Jack's beautiful ears, which are the envy of Oliver!

Ray, we are missing our sweet Charlie and you! :) I will hunt you down shortly. :?

Blessings to all this Holiday Season, and may 2013 be full of only good things.
