We had a good visit, he is doing much better. We got to talk to one of the nurses that was on duty in the wing he is currently in, she told us she is usually on his wing and knows his situation well. She is very pleased with his progress and she said that a week ago she never thought he would have come along as far as he has!! That was so encouraging. He has to wear these big boot things since he has to lay so much right now to keep him off of the bedsore. The boots keep his heels from getting sores on them. He was moving one leg on top of the other and he looked right at me and clearly said "Watch out", and then he moved his leg. He wanted to make sure he didn't hit me with it. He also reached for and held my mom's hand one time, and looked at me and said jokingly "I know you!" !

It sounds like such small accomplishments, but for a long time he hasn't even said coherent full sentences, and for the past month or so everything sounded like garbled words coming out of his mouth. Like I said it was a good visit!!
Oh and my mom and I got to go out to breakfast together, something we haven't gotten to do for a while! That was nice too!
