St Polly the wonder dog

Postby Deerie me on Thu Apr 16, 2009 3:01 pm

I'm not going to write too much about Polly as she was the OH's dog and I only knew her for the last 7 or 8 years of her life. The OH knew her for all but the first five weeks of her life which was when he rescued her. He needs to tell her story but they shared some amazing adventures together including him saving her from wasps and her saving him from muggers. She lived to serve. She never left his side and when I arrived on the scene she became my shadow too refusing to leave us until at the ripe old age of twenty her eyes told us "no more". Seeing him through bachelorhood, several flings and into a settled relationship and fatherhood her job was done.
Here she is....

Tracy, Polly truly was a wonder dog. She really did see your OH through everything and shared all of his life's, and a good deal of yours, most important moments. I can only imagine how hard it must have been for both of you when you lost Polly. That is also the perfect name for her. What a beautiful girl...such love in her eyes. Thank you for sharing Polly.

I just found another pic.....

Playing ball was her thing. She never tired of it.

It's over a year and a half since she went to the bridge and I miss her loads but it makes me smile now to think of her, not cry. She had an amazing and very full life, filled with love and tennis balls.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments. She truly was a special dog.

I'll throw a ball in her honor this evening!

HI Tracy,
Polly is a "Sweetie." She looks like a very nice dog and was indeed a wonder dog for your OH and also for you. Hugs to you all.
