From left (I'll give you currant ages rather than 2007 - they haven't changed much...): Aaron, 20 (Jeff's from 1st marriage), in front of him my little sweetie Brenna, 5 (again Jeff's); next is Amber, 13, and in front of her with striped shirt Daniel, 9 (Trevor's); then my beautiful mother, 94; then Keri's kids, Alex, 12, and boys with white shirts & ties, Noah, 9 - almost 10, and Ryan (being his goofy self), just turned 6. Aaron and I go out for dinner sometimes - he says he likes "hanging out" with his granny! Gotta love these kids!

Thank you everyone! for your love & support, prayers & well wishes - it all helps more than I can say. I really hope we get news tomorrow - it'll have been a week since Alex's EEG.

Wow, what a great picture! What great looking kids, and your Mom is just beautiful! My mom is almost 82 now...And she can outdo me on most any given day...Kind of disgusting, actually...LOL!! I hope everything is going as well as it can with Alex, for the time being, and that they find out something SOON...The waiting is definitely the worst part...I am confident that things will work out fine in the long run...Have an awesome day and give your dear Alex and your wonderful Mom a big hug and a smile, that'll brighten up anyone's day!

Thank you, kian and Cindy, for your compliments to my family. I think they're kind of nice too!!! My mom is the same, Cindy. She admits she's slowing down a bit now ... 94? how can she possibly be slowing down?!? She still gets out for a walk every day, knits for orphans & newborns in Africa, pretty much looks after herself all the time - we finally managed to get her into a partial care facility 2 months ago, where she is given one meal a day in their cafeteria. It's good company for her. I'm sure they would help her with heavy work too, if she'd ask! She lives near 2 of her brothers, and my niece, so can get rides quickly if she needs to (my niece takes her to church), but the rest of the time takes a bus. As you can tell, I admire the dickens out of her!!

No word on EEG results yet. The wait is frustrating! Thanks all, for your continued support!

Your grandchildren and mother are beautiful! What a lovely picture!

About Noah--one of my sons has had allergies since he was about 3 years old and began having allergy-related asthma after entering elementary school. Under the care of a great pediatrician and marvelous allergists, my son has always managed his illness very successfully. He is a healthy, athletic young man who is plays basketball and soccer for his high school and also on the track team.

Still keeping positive thoughts for your Alex too.

Your mom sounds a lot like my mom, then...My mom knits and crochets baby clothes and blankets with a group at her church, and then they donate them to needy families with children...And she also paints wonderfully...I often wonder why she passed NONE of those abilities on to me?? LOL...She also plays cards and bingo with her gang of friends, and pity anyone (like me) who tries to get in on their game, because the poor soul doesn't stand a chance! lol... Those little old ladies play for blood, and heaven forbid someone should beat them at their own game! And they seem so harmless...LOL...Anyway, I hope your darling Alex is doing and feeling better every day, and I hope you get some GOOD news soon! Take care and know that I'm praying for a good outcome for Alex's situation...

Thank you all, for your continued concern for Alex. So far, she has not had another seizure, and we still have no word about the EEG results. We are hoping and praying that "no news is good news". We would still like to know what the results showed, and Keri is worrying to a frazzle and Alex is scared. I'm continuing to try to be upbeat for them even though I feel like I'm sitting on pins and needles!

Deborah, you always say the nicest things! No, I don't take after my mom, I'm not the stunner in my family! That's my younger sister. I look more like my dad. Mind you, he was a good looking man, but his face on a woman? Not the best combination , lol ! My older sister is kind of an amalgamation, leaning more towards my dad's side (makes her walk on a tilt, lol).

Aspen's mom, thanks for the encouragement. Noah seems to be a lot like your son, up to the elementary school part. (He'll be 10 this month and is in grade 4). It's not bad, no severe attacks, and he seems to be taking it in stride. As far as he's concerned, it's no big deal, and he still plays soccer! Your son sounds like a terrific young man! I always think the "kids" who are involved in stimulating extra-curricular activities are the best - they have no time or desire to get into mischief! (Of course, not all of the others do either.) Noah will probably play soccer and belong to the science club! ROTFLMAO

Cindy, yes, that older generation can surprise us sometimes. My mom was artistic when she was younger. We are lucky that she passed down that talent to some of us. There's my meager efforts (beside Tracy's work, looks like finger painting, lol), Keri and Jeff are quite good artistcally, my niece is a very good artist, and Alex is displaying some raw talent too. If I had half mom's energy, I could run a marathon. Unfortunately, she can run circles around me (due to my soap opera life!). She and her 6 siblings, all 85 and up - her older sister is almost 96 - are all blessed with good health, both physically and mentally, and are active people. (One brother was on the mission field in Africa, and was killed in an accident at 41.) Mom's had to give up petit point and tatting - her hands shake some.

Tracy, yeah they are keeping us waiting a loooong time. I think sometimes doctors forget we aren't mind readers! Thanks, my mom is amazing isn't she?

FINALLY - NEWS AT LAST!!!

We have just received the news that Alex has Epilepsy. It is called "Primary Generalized Epilepsy". Our doctor is referring her to a pediatric neurologist, and we'll take it from there... Now that we know what it is, it's like a weight has been lifted from our backs. It is treatable, and we'll know more after she visits the new doctor.

I'm sort of broken up that she does have epilepsy, but I kind of had an intuition that she did. At least it's not worse, can be managed and should not affect her life much. I will post updates as they come.

I can see why you would have mixed feelings but it must be such a relief to actually know what's going on and like you said it is treatable. Some epileptics also seem to get a warning of when it's going to happen. Hopefully Alex will.

With a bit of luck you'll get her all sorted on whatever drugs she needs and she'll carry on as normal and then this will just have been a minor blip on the bumpy surface of life's road.
