Feathered friends

Postby Deerie me on Sun Apr 26, 2009 3:02 pm

When we went away at easter we visited a falconry rescue centre. I don't know if any of you are interested in birds of prey but the OH took some lovely photos so I thought I'd share some with you.

What wonderful pics! I like the eagle too, but I also like the owl. I used to collect owls when I was younger....only kept one small one....very interesting to actually be able to look at all of them up close! Very nice!!

Madeline is never going to get tucked in if you don't stop posting such cool pics! We visit bird santuaries anytime we can. I especially love birds of prey...they are majestic animals. Owls are one of my favorites, too!

The birds of prey are all beautiful, I particularly like the last owl. I frequently see hawks searching for their next meal, but never close up like that. Tracy, thank you for sharing these with us, and your OH for taking such great close-ups. By the way, I have a mole I would like to introduce to that eagle...

One of our cats brought home a mole last week. I've questioned all three of them and noone will confess but I have my suspicions. You don't need an eagle you just need a very patient cat with a lethal pounce.

Tracy,
Love those Birds of Prey. I especially love the Owls. They fascinate me, the way their heads turn all the way around, and that they are nocturnal. I love them, as I love all birds. Thanks to OH and you for sharing.

Thanks Tracy, but my cat is very much an indoor cat. She's got the patience, but not the claws. Maybe I could borrow one?
Sandy

P. S. Oops, I mean borrow a cat, not a claw!

Those pictures are beautiful. I enjoy birds, especially birds of prey. I also enjoy water birds, like Pelicans and Fowl. I'm sorry I missed this thread yesterday. I had to end my DP session early last night

Great pictures, and thanks for not taking them at feeding time!
