I don't know if Mirror Image was made into a movie, but could have been. Its one of her older books, one that I have had and never read. It has been really good, has lots of history in it too since its from the early 1900's.

I don't think the book that Angie was talking about "The Shack" is a James Patterson book, she couldn't remember who wrote it. Maybe she will come back on and let us know if she still has the book.

well I know most of you guys have already read marley and me and i read it when it first came out but i still think thats one of the best books ever, laughable, parts where i cry, and parts where i think of my 90 pound black lab boo who is practically Marly's Brother! So i think all those dog lovers will love that classic book so if you havent read it already read it! :D

I'm reading "The Story of Edgar Sawtelle" now....having a hard time getting through it. Anybody else read it?
It's about a mute boy growing up, his family raises a breed of dog his grandfather created...I think...that's as far as I've gotten

Yes, Jon Katz is someone who has written different kinds of books...I think some technical books, some fiction and most recently about his dogs...border collies and labs and various other farm animals. I think the more recent books are lot about him growing older & figuring life out, but, I, in particular have enjoyed the dog stories. I think his next book is exploring the "idea" of dogs having souls...can't wait to read it.

One of my other favorites is Jeffrey Deaver...he writes the Lincoln Rhyme novels...starting with the Bone Collector.

Angie - there is a study group starting at our church and the book they are studying is "The Shack"! I was so surprised to hear that.......now I know which book you are talking about! I don't have time to participate in the study, but I'm going to borrow one of the extra copies to read.......what a coincidence!!

4 the Dogs - Thanks on the info on the Jeffrey Deaver books. I have a couple of his that I haven't read yet....I think I'm going to have to try one of those next!!

My favorite book about a dog is called Dog's Life : The Autobiography of a Stray by Ann M. Martin. It might be a bit of a child's book but it is wonderful. It's a little on the sad side if you know what I mean. In the beginning of the book the main dog in the story Squirrel has a mother and a brother. All her other brothers and sisters died. Once Squirrel and her brother Bone are old enough their mother leaves them. Bone doesn't what long until he decides to leave too. When Bone leaves he takes Squirrel with him. They stay together for a long time but then Squirrel is left by herself. It's a wonderful book. You should read it sometime. Yes it is a child's book but it's still wonderful. :D

Right now I'm reading the eighth book in the "Sookie Stackhouse" series by Charlaine Harris.
Just finished the first two of the Twilight series, I'm waiting the the last two to come out in paperback.
I've read most of the Stephen King and Dean Koontz books. My favorites from them respectively are, The Stand and Watchers. I love anything to do with vampires, werewolves, supernatural, etc.
But, I will read pretty much anything!

HI guys,

I just read "PUG HILL." It is about an engaged girl who has always loved and wanted to own her own Pug. It is set in NYCity, where Pug Hill is, and where she used to go when she was DOWN, to see all the Pugs gather and they would cheer her. She would just sit and watch and interact with them and she fell in love with them. She met their owners also and that had its own interests. It has multi-plots and is serious and cute at the same time. Just a good book. Been in print for quite some time.

Not :) bad at all. UMMMMM, I smell grass today coming in my window, sort of mixed with gas. Yuk. Spring is here.

Hi everyone!

I love reading and have been known to stay up with a book into the wee hours of the morning!

I like reading thrillers, have read a lot of Tess Gerritsen's books over the last few months, as well as horrors.

I'm quite fond of John Connelly's books, as well - he writes the Charlie Parker stories!

As I am quite interested in Animal Assisted Therapy, I like to read books about the subject too. The last one I read was Creature Comfort - Animals that heal by Bernie Graham. Very good.

Keep well!

I've just finished reading "The Secret Life of Bees" by Sue Monk Kidd.
One of my girlfriends loaned it to me, I wasn't sure if I'd like it, but it's an excellent book.
