Marco's Mom...that is a great idea, but I'm terribly inept at forwarding email photos still  It is a solution though 8)

Tracy, I love SS's baby photos. He is so precious. The Santa suit is adorable, and who can resist the toddler squat?!

RJM...your nieces are lovely. I love little girl dresses. All of the photo's were very sweet.

All of our early family pictures were lost. It's still heartbreaking. I may be able to find a couple of the kids, but in the meantime here's a couple of the grands...

Phyrie,

What pretty granddaughters you have...and your husband and son, you can really see the resemblance!

It's such a pleasure looking back at old photos, it's really a shame that most of yours were lost :(

Phyrie, what a beautiful family you have. Both of your granddaughters have the loveliest apple cheeked smiles...beautiful girls. Your son and husband are awfully handsome and do bear a striking resemblance. I am sorry to hear you lost old photos in a fire, along with other things I'm sure. I imagine being a "Grand" is so much fun.

Ah, Deb, if only it HAD been a fire... but no. My grandmother asked me to loan her my box of pictures, as my mother was coming to visit and she wanted to exchange memories with her. They went through GAZILLIONS of pics, and I left my box of pics there with them. Somehow Gran misplaced it. We searched the house, up, down, in, out... It was heartbreaking. They were just...gone. All my daughter's baby pictures, pics of my husband and myself when newly married (I was damn cute, and THIN!). Our pets, our homes, our lives. *sigh* There's just no replacing that kind of thing.

Being Gran is very cool. What's even more amazing is that the girls LIKE to come over here! I don't understand it, as I am a very firm person when it comes to child rearing. I'm the one who makes the rules, and sticks by them. My husband is the fun one, or so I thought. Apparently the girls like to come over as they always know where they stand. I have rules, but if you keep to them, most anything else is OK. I will never lie to you, and I will never talk down to you. Just because you are a child doesn't mean you can't have an opinion.

So they like me, go figure. It astounds me. If I was a kid, I don't think I'd like me very much at all. (Good think I'm not a kid...)

Phyrie

Oh, and yes, they are beautiful, even if they do look like their father instead of me....

Phyrie, I know why they love going to your house...It's easy with Grandma because all we have to do is what we're told and she'll do anything for us! They are gorgeous girls.

I am so sorry all of your photos are gone. I would have enjoyed seeing a wedding picture of yours. Hopefully friends and family have one or two each that you can have.

Thank goodness Oliver is the perfect "cuddle" size otherwise I think I would be wishing for another baby right about now. I miss the baby cuddles. I then realize I'm 47, except I keep thinking I'm 46 for some reason, and I get right over it. Grandchildren must be the gift we receive for raising our children, inter alia.

Actually, I might have one of the wedding day. We didn't have a photographer, and all the pics were taken with a Polaroid camera! Do you remember those? I have an album with a few of those old pictures in it. I don't know if I could get them out to scan them though. They've been in there over 30 years! But I'll give it try.

I'm making Mu Shu Pork for the first time for dinner, so I'm busy right now, but I'll see if I can manage a not-too-embarassing one later.

OK, OK, sheesh, badger a girl to death, why doncha!! :-D

I hadn't looked at the "wedding album" in a very long time. There are some pictures in there of the ceremony (at the justice of the peace) taken with a regualr camera, but they are so faded and dark you can no longer recognize what they are, unless you were there. Surprisingly, the few Polaroids are still fine. so I scanned a couple, along with a snapshot my mom took a few years later, and the one and only professional portrait we ever had done, way before my son was born. After long consideration, I am including a family shot of the four of us, taken on the occasion of my daughter's graduation from high school. The reason I hesitated is that my husband, for the first, last, and only time, had shaved off his moustache, and he just doesn't look like himself. He doesn't look awful per se, but it's odd. I was horribly ashamed that I talked him into it, and we spent days assuring him that he didn't look funny (he's very self-conscious) while it grew back. In fact, if he knew I was posting this, he'd most likely kill me. So don't tell, kay?
I'll have to take two posts to post these, as I can only attach three pics at a time. Is it just me? I KNOW I've seen posts with WAY more than three pics...

Phyrie, thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing! I love the pictures of you and your husband on your Wedding Day. You were a beautiful, radiant couple. If I might be so bold, what year were you married? The dress tells me late 70's, and it's beautiful. I had to look twice at your daughter's Grad photo as your hair colour has changed a time or two. I thought you were your daughter at first glance. Thank you so much for sharing. They are wonderful photographs and memories. Tell your OH he looks just fine without his moustache 8)

Phyrie thanks for sharing, your granddaughters are beautiful I must say and a very handsome husband and son. Even though your wedding photos were long ago, at least I have some idea of who you are now. Your wedding photos are a delight! I would say early 70's as well. Deb thanks for badgering her :)

So how was the mu shu pork?

Ah, ladies, thank you. Yes, my hair has changed over the years. I am a natural blonde, but the "Fiery" came out in me for a long time and I was red-headed for over a decade. I always felt like I "should" have been a red head, but somehow nature screwed me over. So, I fixed it. I've since gone back to the blonde, and it's OK. So far, I have very little grey, so it's all good. As I become more comfortable in my own skin, I don't mind be a little more "natural".

We were married on November 25, 1977. I had actually planned to wear a white dress, very similar to the lovely pink polyester number that I ended up in, but I just felt odd in white. My six month old daughter's babysitter offered her services for free for that night, so ....ahem.... no white for me! LOL!
My 15 year old sister was my bridesmaid and she had brought the pink dress with her to wear. I gave her the white one, we added a black velvet ribbon around the bodice, and she was just as lovely as could be. And I wore the pink.
We had totally forgotten about flowers, and while we were having a drink at a local restaurant waiting for a ferry, my mom ran up to a florist and had my corsage and Paul's boutonniere made. Or we wouldn't have had flowers. I was terribly disorganized (still am!) but it was a great party!

Paul's cousin made the cake; my Grandpa made dinner (Chinese food at his restaurant) and we had a party at my husband's aunt and uncle's place. Small, intimate, but fun. I can't help but think fondly about it.
