Deborah, your reasoning for wanting Lily Belle .... oh, oops ... as a companion for Oliver are sound. I've used the same reasoning myself and always given in. But when Sasha (the last of my last trio) died, Cheyenne and I were there for each other and I find myself strangely reluctant this time. When you think about it, Oliver is only 5 to Cheyenne's 9, pretty big size difference too, and would enjoy hijinks with a new companion more.

Can you imagine two cavs with zoomies? I'd love to see it! It would be as cute as Lucky & Skittles - they often get the zoomies at the same time - over the couch, up the stairs, one over the bed and one under, down the stairs, over the love seat, chair and couch, back up the stairs ... then one will change direction! It's hilarious!

It would be fun if your little girl would have a clown face too - only, the mirror image of Oliver!

Hugs from me & big kisses from Cheyenne

Phyrie, have to say he is one gorgeous fella. I'd love to see Kiba and Oliver together, but I'm sure we'll get double-cav pix when they get their lady friends. What a lovely companion!

Tracy, you are an angel!

Phyrie, I love the new avatar. Kiba is so handsome. I still am thankful that you told me about the clown face. It so suits!

Sandy, I am pleased that you also think it's a good idea right now. I agree that with Cheyenne being 9, it could be upsetting to her. If Oliver were not doing so well, I wouldn't even consider it. I've discussed it with both boys this evening and they really want a little sister for Oliver.

Can you imagine Oliver with a new baby sister? He loves other dogs and always wants to be friends. A little puppy would gravitate towards him and I'm quite sure, he would enjoy teaching her where she belongs in the grand scheme of things (with proper supervision of course, and as if I have to explain that to anyone who knows me). If I am able to find a little girl before the summer ends, Ben would love her to start off in her crate in his room. He knows exactly what is expected as Oliver slept in his room until he went away for a weekend. Ben and Elliot no longer go away on weekends.

I can see Oliver and ? playing and running together. I have successfully introduced new puppies before. I so appreciate your support Tracy, Phyrie and Sandy! I know that if one of you thought it was a bad idea, you would certainly let me know. I am consumed by this, but that's how I roll.

Well I know being consumed by something... It's how I roll, as well! I pick a topic, and study it to death. Hence my arguably large amount of knowledge about various, sometimes trivial, subjects. I hate not knowing something, and will go out of my way to find the answer to any question. I used to read books with a dictionary at my side. Now, with the Internet, hell, I can find out anything, virtually instantaneously! Isn't technology grand! Although I have a massive book collection, as well as three computers.

My problem is sticking with something. I tend to have the attention span of a gnat. Well, maybe a big gnat, but still.... I flit from interest to interest. Some stick, some don't. Dogs stuck, jewelry making didn't. Computers stuck, computer art didn't. Cooking stuck, gardening didn't. Fine art seems to have stuck, so far. Creative writing, not so much. Tarot is sticking, collecting Anime, nope.

Where was I going with this?

Deb, I think maybe you should have one of each colour. A tri girl (Ophelia) and a ruby girl (Olivia) and a black and tan boy (Oscar)

That's that sorted then.

Tracy, I like your kind of naughtiness! I love the names you selected as well...perfect! The OH tried to tell me today that "we don't need another dog". I reminded him that if he had his way, we wouldn't have Oliver. I let it go with him for now because he knows I'm going to do what I want to do anyway. Besides, it's much more pleasant if I work on him a bit so he thinks it was his idea.

I took another step forward today though in my pursuit. I started gathering the telephone numbers of the breeders I wish to call first. I also decided, since Oliver needs his annual check-up, that we would have a vet visit (within the next several days) and I am going to discuss it with them. Their Locum is one of the breeders I am considering contacting, so if he is there, even better.

Phryie, I enjoy your vast amount of knowledge on so many different subjects. The internet does offer immediate satisfaction which is wonderful.

Oliver told me today that he wants a baby sister because then he could finally be the boss of somebody.

Naw, my brane hath turned to mush. I'm finding I'm doing that a bit more than I like lately. I'll stand up to go out to the kitchen, and by the time I've taken two steps, I stop, and ask my husband, "What the hell was I getting up for?" Sometimes he can guess, but most of the time he just shakes his head at me, muttering something about "how should i know what goes on in that head...". So, I sit back down, and sigh, and wait until it comes to me again, or doesn't. Whatever. Hey, I don't mind sitting....

*sigh*

I do it all the time Kian. I will often go upstairs, get to the top and stop while I think what I was fetching. Usually I go to the loo while I try to remember. And if anyone talks to me, while I'm on a mission, thats it, game over, I'm scuppered. It's motherhood, I'm told (Your brain comes out with the placenta)

Tracy, your previous post is very funny...it looks as though you called Phyrie Kian while testifying to losing your brain with the placenta!

I made my first contact today and sent an email regarding a puppy. I am just dipping my big toe in the water to feel the temperature. We'll see what happens next

Happy Friday everyone.
