I posted a new topic in General showing the tons of pictures I took of all of the pups. The breeder initially said the pups were nine weeks, and then later I asked their birth date. Of course, they are 7 weeks old and no wonder her husband kept looking at me like I was crazy wanting to take home a puppy under 8 weeks.

I couldn't sleep last night, and was up past 1:00 a.m. I'm like a little child on Christmas Eve. I was so amped, I gave myself a headache, which is gone now  We need these 10 days or so to prepare for Henry's arrival.

I'm so glad you like the name Tracy! Phyrie, although I don't wish a black & tan, or a ruby, if someone handed me one, I would not say no

Thanks everyone for your support and kindness. It really does mean a great deal to me. :D

Well, yeah, if they're handing them out... I wouldn't say no! Henry is just adorable, and I like the name too. Heh heh, leaves me with Kia and Lily for later!

I just love Cavaliers they are such beautiful dogs!

Dear Deborah, the last post I read was when you were just going to see the litter. I thought then there was no way you were coming home without a pup! Henry is gorgeous! I am so happy for you! It will be a lot of "fun" having a baby around the house again. Oliver will help you train Henry - just wait and see. That's always what happened with my girls, and why they were so easy to train. They just emulated their big sisters. What can I say? I envy you, but at the same time, I won't go into the Shelter because I know the same thing would happen. Cheyenne and I aren't ready.

How long have you had this percolating on the "back burner"? When you started talking tri's and new puppy, I was sure the decision was already made. Again, I'm happy for you and the boys (all 3), and even the OH! Enjoy!

Hugs

Sandy, I've always planned in the back of my mind, to have a Blenheim and a Tri. It was really a matter of timing. After Oliver's last check up in Guelph, I felt perhaps it was time to start looking. Like a dog with a bone, once I have an idea, I tend to move forward. Henry "happened" along at just the right moment.

Thanks everyone again for your sweet comments.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so sorry I missed this thread until now. Thanks for directing me to it Oliver's Mummy. I am so unbelievably happy for you. Although it makes me scared to even look at pups because I would probably end up with one just like you did. Your little Henry is gorgeous, and I love the name. Its very royal sounding and really seems to suit him. I am so excited for you, but at the same time, I am glad I don't have a puppy coming in ten days. I need more time than that to mentally prepare. lol But Oliver will be a big help to you I'm sure. Sampson will just hinder me at first until he adjusts. I can just imagine how excited you are. I am bursting with excitement just because my husband wants to look at a litter. You must have fireworks going on inside. By the way, I won't be looking at the litter on Saturday, it will be next week sometime. Anyway, congratulations, and I can't wait to see pics and hear stories once you bring Henry home.

Phyrie, I thought it was quite amusing that you want to name a girl puppy Kia. My name is Nikia and people call me Kia for short. lol I've never heard of a dog called that. But something tells me that would really suit a female cav. I love Lilly too though. Maybe it will be your turn soon... we saw what happend when Oliver's Mummy started talking names... I'm keeping my mouth shut on possible names until I know for sure if we're going to get another pup.

Sampson's Mom:

My "real" name is Karin (although I never use it on the Internet, so please ignore that info!), and my granddaughter is Karina (after you-know-who). So Kaia is both names, with the consonants taken out! (And yes, I realize, now, that I didn't spell it that way before, but heck, I'm allowed one mistake a year, right?) Pronounced "k-eye'-ah".
Plus there used to be a series of commercials on Canadian TV, with a handy-capable wife and an inept husband who kept trying home improvements, and when he got into trouble putting up shelves or painting he would call her name. The way he said, "Kaia?!?" all plaintive-like, appealed to me in a very basic way. He just seemed so respectful and his tone was such that you knew he trusted her to help him, and would give him whatever he needed.
Since we already had Karina, when my daughter was pregnant with her youngest (and last) daughter, I canvassed for "Kaia". Since we knew she would be the last, I thought that name would round out the family just beautifully. My mom wanted "Emma" for her mom, but we got "Jenna", I don't know from where. I call her "Baby", and it doesn't occur to her to mind. So far.

Is it only ten days til Mr Henry comes home?? :D Woww! This is so exciting! That little face will make up for sleepless nights, right? :P

Phyrie, my little brothers' Grandad calls them 'Main Man' and 'Top Man'. And their Nana just calls them both 'Trouble'!
My Nana calls me 'sunshine' sometimes  and my Granda on the other side calls us all 'my pet'. Don't remember where all this came from  Never mind

Henry is such a perfect name for him, Deb :) You have to promise to take lots of pictures of Olster and the Henriator together! (No idea where those nicknames came from! ) I am having such an urge to cuddle one of those Cavy puppies. I remember when I was little, one of the parents who picked up her son from my primary school had a boy tri which I loved saying hi to after school. It licked and licked and licked my hands! Oh my gosh, I've just remembered... When I went camping with my Dad to Herefordshire, we stayed on a campsite and the owner of the site had a 4 month old tri Cavy boy called Charlie. I was so lucky! She let me play and walk with him nearly every day. He was an absolute poppet. I love the silky feel of them. Oh my gosh.. I want a Cavalier.. The one and only thing that puts me off is the high susceptibility to illnesses/diseases. I am having such a strong craving for a wriggly puppy cuddle right now.. :D :P   :!:

Snoops...it's less than 10 days....it is only 2 full days! He is coming home on Tuesday, if all goes according to plan. We only have Sunday and Monday and then Ben and I are going to pick him up. I am going out shopping tomorrow for a few things for him. I've already selected a lovely bed, a "receiving blanket and matching bone", a few toys and some other things.

I love the nick names you came up with for Oliver and Henry! They might just stick, you never know. Snoops, he is so cuddly and soft and so, so, so sweet. I can't stop looking at his pictures. Oliver has an appointment with the groomers in the next two weeks, so there is a scheduled Photo Shoot planned at our house for the two of them. 8)

Ben wants to have Henry in his room at night, which he did with Oliver as well for a while. As Ben will be finished with exams on Wednesday, he can afford to lose some sleep  It will be fun and I think summer holidays are the best time to bring a puppy home. Oliver came home in February, and it was freezing, but he was still fully house trained by 12 weeks.

Henry is PRECIOUS! I'm so excited for you and I know Oliver is going to love having a new buddy! The whole litter is sweet, but he just looks like a loving little soul ready to come home to you and your family. I can't wait to see more pictures. By the time I get back from Kentucky, you'll be a mommy again!

Angie, Oliver's heart will along belong to his Lexy

Thank you for your enthusiasm. Elliot and I had a wonderful adventure last Sunday. :D

Oh, oh, oh, it just occurred to me that Henry and Pups might also make a cute couple
