Some of my photography

Postby snoopygirl on Fri Jul 03, 2009 1:32 pm

I went out and took some photos in my garden for my photography section of my art project. I'll add them to my sketchpad. I've printed these ones out on photo paper and stuck them in already. I love photography, and I am quite happy with the results :)

I noticed these daisies because they were all standing together like a family. They are all similar, but slightly different, and they are all looking separate ways but they are still one group, one family together

These flowers have their 'heads' or 'faces' beside each other. Their colours, especially the bright yellow in the middle, makes them look as if they are smiling, and are happy beside each other

In this photo the plant is very wet as it has been raining. People might complain about the rain but plants 'appreciate' the rain because it helps them to thrive, we should remember how important it is

Some more :) They all have a better effect when they're bigger but they're too big to fit on the DP.

I think these are beautiful flowers and their bright yellow colouring is part of their identity to attract bees to them for pollination. Everything has a purpose.

Most of the heads of this flower are closed, but one is especially open. People may 'blossom' before you while you may still be shy and in your shell, but eventually you will 'bloom' too and it is in everyone's identity to develop differently

The rose is a beautiful flower and it is a lovely pink colour, but roses also have thorns which is a striking contrast. There is no 'one side' to anyone, no matter how they might come across, there is always another side to their identity.

And a little more! What do you think?

Different plants have differently shaped leaves, and are different textures and colours. Like this plant is bright green with long, waxy, shiny leaves. It is not like the bright flowers with big petals, but it is beautiful in its own way.

Here the lamppost on the other side of the fence is visible against the sky and the plants. It is not a part of nature, it is man-made, and that makes it stand out. But in this photo I don't think it looks ugly, I think it has its own way of looking aesthetically pleasing

It is in the identity of everything to produce fruit, whether that is literally or metaphorically. These apples are young and are not yet ripe, but it shows that everyone can contribute something.

Ahhh Snoops! These are quite beautiful. I love the colors and every little detail you picked up. You can't go wrong taking pictures of nature. You have an eye for the aesthetically pleasing photo opportunities, though. Great job!

I was quite proud of my lil camera  It's not such a great one, just 4.1 megapixels or something (though the pics are bigger than this, I had to shrink them) but the shots turned out right eventually. Thanks, Angie.

Well done Snoops. They're great. Did you have to take photos of something specific?

Thank-you :) Yeah I like the first three too I think, Kris.

Well Tracy it's still part of my Identity topic... :? Lol I'll find some way to link it. I've just done lots of things in my sketch pad titled "My ...." to link back to me, my identity.. So I've just titled these pages as "My Garden". But I also thought of that nature and plants all has its own identity as well, like the group of daisies look like a family, but everything's unique... Verrrrry cheesy! :D Don't think I'll write that bit, it might look random and cringe-worthy. I think I'll just stick them in and let them do the work!

I guess we do have a pretty garden but I take it totally for granted!  :? Doing this photography has made me look more, because I don't spend much time in the garden. We do have a lot of pretty flowers really and my mam does a really good job of managing the lawn and the bushes and everything on her own. She absolutely exhausts herself doing it, though. :(

There are some more pics but I just put on my favourite.

Snoops, those are lovely photos and I'm all for some fromage! I didn't think your idea of the Daisies was cheesy at all. I thought it was very sweet. I really liked all the of photographs, especially the rose. However, the first three were also wonderful. They were quite varied in their colour and composition. I know absolutely nothing about photography, in case you can't tell. I do know what pleases my eye and your photographs please my eye.

You have a talent for photography, not surprisingly as you are very good at everything you enjoy.

Ah, jeez, Snoops, once again you surprise the hell out of me.... I don't know why I just don't learn to expect the world from you, 'cuz you give it to us, every time.

At first I thought your pics were very nice. I could see myself painting a couple of them... and then you mentioned about the "daisy family" and I went back to the pic, and saw it through your eyes....
Ah, Snoops, you have a wonderful eye, and you should continue to journal all these things as honestly as you can. Looking at those daisy faces, with a "family" in mind, changed the picture completely. I saw how each member was looking in a different direction, but still stood as a family, together. You need to name, label and describe each one, so we can try to see what you see.

Thank you.

Thanks Linda and Deborah :) And thank-you Phyrie  :D
So maybe I should write in my sketchpad my ideas for each of them, then, if it's not silly after all? Here are a couple more. I have added captions of my ideas for all of the photos now, if you'd like to go back and read them. Some are quite corny mind!

In this one, all of the branches are reaching out to get as much sunlight as they can for photosynthesis, and they are competing with the other plants for survival which shows their natural instinct

The light shining through the leaves here shows all the intricate veins in the leaves that reminds me that plants are alive and they are all mapped out just like humans are

I took this because the leaves are so perfect, the edges are all the same and they have such a unique identity that every leaf on that plant follows the same pattern.
