English Bulldogs

Postby chomps_the_bully on Sat Sep 12, 2009 1:54 pm

For anyone interested in owning an English Bulldog one day and might need some advice or information I would be happy to help (as much as I can, since I am no expert) My own experience with my bully, Chomper, has taught me so much when it comes to the breed. I figured I would start a thread on the bullies for those who were interested and who were considering adding one to their family! Have a wonderful day!

Hello,

How old is your bulldog? Do you have any recommendation on food? My gf just got her parents 6 yr old bulldog who is overweight due to bad food management. They left food out all the time plus gave her people food whenever they ate. She is currently eating pedigree cause thats what she was given before but we are looking to change her to something else.

Thanks,

Frank

Frank, please check out http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com

It is a website that gives a break down of almost every type of dog food available. Perhaps now that your "outlaws" (just kidding...gf's parents) have a six year old dog, you may wish to look for a senior food.

May I also suggest that you investigate the Health Section of this Forum as many threads discuss feeding, including the one about Raw Feeding.

I believe that Bulldogs are prone to put on weight, particularly if given table scraps and low quality food. Exercise is required along with the right type of food to match the activity level.

I hope this is helpful.
