New tricks was ok. I enjoyed it and finished it in a night(500 pages) but I don't think I'll be looking for books by him. TO slow. It did have a lot of twists you didn't know who did it till the last few pages.

I'm going to start 13 1/2 by Nevada Barr next.It's a psychological thriller. We'll see.

Tracy, I've not heard of Minette WAlters. What type of books do you usually read ? I'm sure you probable said but I'm to lasy to go back and look this morning.

I usually read crime fiction. Anything by Reginald Hill, Elizabeth George, PD James, Kathy Reichs, Patricia Cornwell etc. I'll give anyone a go once. Occassionally I'll read fantasy if the OH passes over something he thinks I'll like. I have read some really good Minette Walters. That one wasn't her best. "The Sculptress" was good and "Acid Row".

Deb, have you read "Life with George" yet?

I quite like anything by Mitch Albom. I've read "The Five People You Meet in Heaven", "Tuesdays with Morrie", and I'm currently reading "Have a Little Faith". They are short books, and fairly easy reads....but I find them to be amazingly inspiring and through provoking.

Edit to add: "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" made me bawl my eyes out.

Brenda if you like Patricia Cornwell then I would imagine you would really enjoy Kathy Reichs. The series Bones on TV was very loosely based on her books. Very, very loosely.

The lead character has the same name but the resemblance ends there. Temperance in the books is older has a university aged daughter and is divorced but dating a cop.

Deerie Me ,I'm going to look after I finish the book I have.
what I should read is a refresher on dog training .I forgot so much since my guys are old men 14 and 11. Autumn does like cheese and chips .Hate to give her the chips . And she like sweet potatoes so I think I'll get some dried ones or dehyrate her some see if I can use this. Sorry differnt subject.

Tracy, I have not read that yet. I started a book in Florida and am still reading it! I used to always have a book on the go, but have been unable to fully enjoy them in the past couple of years. I did read quite a bit when I was in Florida last March, by the pool, in the sun, listening to the ocean just over my shoulder!!!! It's going to be a LONG winter!

I do enjoy reading everyone else's suggestions. I won't start a new book until I finish the old one, and I have 3 unread ones, one of which is a Kathy Riechs.

If you are still reading the book you started in Florida then it seems that maybe you're not enjoying it. Perhaps you should ditch it and try something else. I don't usually have anything on the go for more than about three weeks.

If I can't get intrested in the book in a little while I read the end and find something else .Some I don't even see how they end. I haven't had time to read much lately,just recently started again.

I hate to give up on a book. I don't like to waste the time I have invested in it if that makes sense. I know, not really. It has to be a very tedious book for me to give up on it.

"Have a Little Faith" is definitely more focused on religion, as it is based on when his Rabbi requested that he write his eulogy for him.

"Tuesdays with Morrie" is about his favourite college professor's battle with ALS.

"The Five People You Meet in Heaven" is fictional and tells a very neat story about how the most influential people in your life could very well be people you don't even remember.

Tuesdays and Five People are more....life lesson ish, I suppose.
