My beloved Bijou was humanely euthanized yesterday evening. Can't post much yet. I feel like my heart has been torn away from me.

We all understand. Post when and if you can. Just finding the strength to tell us is amazing in and of itself, so thank you for doing so.

I'm so very sorry for your loss and wish you the best. Feel free to pm me if you want to vent, or cry, or just chat privately. Sending you many, many, hugs and love.

Bijou

Postby litlshell on Thu Jul 03, 2008 11:33 am

Thanks everyone for your kind words and hugs. I know that I gave him a full and happy life. I'm not sure who was more devoted to whom. My husband always said he'd never seen a dog watch someone so lovingly as did Bijou to me. I will miss him more than I can express. I feel like I've lost a child. Even Cricket, who has never really bonded with the other dogs we've had, seems more subdued than usual.

Yes Litlshell I think quite a few of us know about them being so much our children. That bond is so special and in time will help soothe your heart too. Hugs to you and your family.

So sorry for your loss!! I know how it feels to lose someone that you love Soooo dearly.
All of my dogs are my "Babies".
My sister things that this is the dumbest thing that she has ever heard (and she has 2 dogs herself)!!
But I think the real defination of being a "mother", is that you nuture and give love and we can choose our own babies.

I truely believe that God has given us dogs so that we will know how His love really feels. That's why DOG spelled backwards is GOD

Dogs are our furry angels. Sent here to watch over and love & protect us.

No one except a DOG can ever truely accept and love us, for exactly who we are.

I completely agree. A dog's love is so unconditional. Through all the years of my life and all the dogs that I have known; Bijou will always have the biggest piece of my heart. He was MY dog and I was HIS MOMMY!

Hey all; it's been 33 weeks today. I still feel like the house is too empty without him. I miss his funny noises that he used to make when I came home each day. It was something like a gurgling yodely howl! It's hard to describe; but it made me laugh every time. This is the last picture I took of him; a couple of months before he passed.

Hi Litlshell, Bijou looks so sweet and I love his name. The messages on this thread are so heartwarming
Good luck with finding another poodle to keep Cricket company as I know you're looking :)
