Gabe went to the rainbow bridge tonight.I will miss him so much.

Oh no, not Gabe! Beautiful hound Gabe. I hadn't realised he was ill. I know he was old but was it sudden? Massive hugs for you Brenda. I'm so sorry for your loss. I had a huge soft spot for Gabe.

He had just been to the vet , he was having arthrits problems but none of us thought he'd be gone so soon.The vet had put him on pain pills for his legs.

Last night he started barking ,wouldn't stop. He didn't act in pain just upset. He went out side barked a little and just fell over . He was gone before I could get to him. It's so strange.I was standing on the porch talking to him, asking what was wrong. I really just thought he'd seen something or a cat was under the house..

It's really caught me of guard.I'm not sure what happened.

I am so sorry to hear about Gabe. It does come as a shock when you are not expecting it. I am sending BIG HUGS your way, sweetie.
I know that Gabe is in a better place now where he is no longer in pain.

From Gabe's point of view I suppose it's the best way to go. No days or weeks of suffering and no agonising decision for you Brenda, but what a shock. I'm thinking of you.

Gabe was such a beautiful boy and I'm so glad you were able to share him with us.
One good thought is that Babe was waiting for him at the bridge.

Brenda I am in such shock . I had no idea what happened to Gabe and I'm sorry it was so sudden. I didn't know Gabe very well but from what I saw he was the sweetest thing. I know you'll miss your hound boy but at least he will be free of pain at the Rainbow Bridge.

Kris, I think I'm going to hold on to this thought. He was telling Babe and Speck he was coming to play and chase coons free of pain.

I never caught that beautiful howl of his on tape, wished I had . I will really miss it . All my hounds that howled are gone. I will miss the howls.The neighbors won't I'm sure but I will.

It's funny how you never know whats going to happen. I 've lost 3 that made it to 10 or 11 then there is my Lucky 14 and hopefully many more.

Brenda, I am truly in shock. I am pleased that he did not suffer and was happy until the end. I can only imagine how shocking this is for you and your family. You know how much I adore Gabe. Bless his sweet heart.
